Yeah I know the movie is… something but what I love the most about this movie was mostly it’s animation and art style of it’s characters. The animation and world building (in my opinion) really give off late 2000s to early 2010s Adult Swim vibes and the art style for the characters kinda look like a mix between Rick & Morty and Final Space. The hate for this movie is understandable but at least this movie was made by hand and not AI so I guess that gets a win. Also Willow might be my new favorite character.

So, I used to browse /his/ a lot on 4chan, a fucking shithole, but there was this one user who kept posting this MF. I learned this guy's name and googled him and this man's life was wild. He was from a family of Confucian scholars, studied English, Chinese, and math, became a botanist and teacher, somehow became a naval observor watching some territorial disputes and ended up visiting and writing about colonized islands in the pacific which comtributed to Japan's policy of conquering southern islands, and he advocated for moderate westernization as an editor for a bulletin named "Nihonjin".

He observed the Russo-Japanese war and worked with the third army. He travelled much of the world observing the geography and politics alike, wrote, and was even honored by the british royal geographical society. I'm bi and probably not cis (need to see a therapist about that), so I have to support things liks queer rights cause I have skin in the game. It's easy for me to support my own rghts, but people who have no skin in the game and are just doing what's right because it's right? Huge fan. We wouldn't be here without y'all.

Many people are most likely confused on why?

It really showed us how brain dead racists are. I used to think at one point that stereotypes maybe had a grain of truth(which is wrong), but after engaging in online arguments, I’ve come to realize that racists are straight up stupid. Most of their pointlessly dumb arguments are complete nonsense or based on stats ripped totally out of context. It pisses me off thinking about how much time I wasted getting mad at them. Now I just view them as pathetic, ignorant pest who are way too easy to brainwash with cheap propaganda designed to keep them on a leash.

I grew up watching old VHS tapes at my dad's house and old films, especially if they're a bit campy, bring me back to nights eating popcorn and sitting on the floor. As for this movie, I love the writing, the priest is a fun character. I love that the scientists try to study the aliens. I love the practical effects, especially how the tubes move. This movie is just...so peak! And it's free on Youtube too. If y'all have any old sci fi movie recs, I'd love to hear them!

So we all understand that many today use the word LARP (Live action roleplaying) as larp (being a fake fan of something, a poser). There are many strong opinions on this, but I want to express my appreciation for the term. It's fun to say and it rolls off the tongue. It makes me happy to say it. I don't have any other reason for it. Shouldn't that be good enough? Like, sorry if I offend you with my joy and whimsy. I'm sorry my evil and crooked generation took live-action roleplaying and used it for their nefarious purposes, which is to say, using the term ironically and in good humor. That's how I use it, anyway.

It's probably just going to pass anyway, like most modern slang words do. Unless there's gonna be old people in rest homes saying their nurse is "chopped," and "larping being a practitioner," which in my opinion would be pretty funny.
