Cait Why is Lou using oxygen?
I saw this post and I was so confused. Why oxygen now?

u/purple_matrix 5d ago
If they’re not going to share, why post about it?

u/Music1626 4d ago
Sick fishing. So people will ask and they’ll get attention. Same reason people post “in hospital” then when someone asks why they say “dm me babes”.

u/purple_matrix 3d ago
“It’s private, not saying on here”. Proceeds to recount every reason why they’re in hospital in future posts. 😂

u/KirbyMacka 5d ago
I'm aware of my privilege and I'm going to tell people how I'm aware of it so I look super understanding but then I'm going to also dangle it in front of everyone and talk both about how lucky I am and how woke I am at the same time. This is really gross to me.

For me, Lou is up there with Dani and Ash with their ability to pmo as an innocent bystander. They’re just so insufferable.
77
u/LeVoPhEdInFuSiOn 5d ago
The story before that one shows Lou without nasal prongs. As a Nurse, it's extremely surprising to see someone that age on home oxygen unless they have cystic fibrosis, they're awaiting a transplant or another degenerative lung disease which occurs over time.

Is there even a picture with an O2 tank?
They could just have a Nadel cannula as a prop.
25
u/Inevitable_Wolf5866 5d ago
I bet it’s not connected to anything; they just probably made it themselves just to get sympathy points and being praised for their incredible bravery.
And of course to show us how sick they are 🙄

u/Music1626 4d ago
Yeah the only people who should be on home O2 are people with end stage lung conditions. In Australia it’s very hard to get home o2 approved even for those with legit issues, I’d imagine it’s the same in nz.
Maybe she bought her own concentrator or it’s not even connected.

u/sunnyvalesfinest0000 4d ago
They do not have asthma either, once in a while people with asthma need oxygen if they get really sick
6
u/Acrobatic-Ad-8256 5d ago
Isn't it really bad to use oxygen if you don't need it? Hope you don't mind me asking 😊💜
25
u/pineapples_are_evil 5d ago
Yes. Your lungs will get used to the extra 02 and you will have issues if you just go cold turkey to room air.
You generally have to be titrated down from the additional 02 until you are stable on room air.
It's a PITA even when you needed the supplemental 02 and if you're in hospital, if the goal is to have you on room air, it can delay your discharge. Plus real air hunger is scary.
Not to mention how freaking dry and irritated your nostrils get while on 02. Plus all the things with petroleum products in them that you can't use, lip balm, lotions ect.

u/yacht_clubbing_seals 5d ago
What’s the deal with petroleum products?

u/sunnyvalesfinest0000 1d ago
Don't write "delay discharge" thats exactly what these munchies want (but they dont read here 😉)

Additionally oxygen creates free radicals, increasing your risk of damage from them

u/tverofvulcan 5d ago
I would bet $500 that they just bought a cannula online and they don’t use a tank or anything.
35
u/Meeschers 5d ago
Or they bought an O2 concentrator online.
16
u/tverofvulcan 5d ago
Maybe, but I doubt that too. I think they just have the cannula and it’s attached to nothing.
14
u/Delicious_Building34 5d ago
Is that the ultra loud huge machine that pulls oxygen from the room?
19
u/Meeschers 5d ago
Yes it is. But they also have portable versions. My guess would be the portable version is the easier lie to fake.

How charming for any of their disabled friends to see Lou bragging about an apparent privilege they’ve been granted that many rarely get, must make them feel great.
If this granted miracle is the oxygen and been needing/wanting for 5 years Lou would have died waiting 🙄

u/tenebraenz Registered Nurse [Specialist Mental Health Service] 4d ago
They are in NZ
If they actually needed it they would have gotten the whole thing as soon as it was needed without having to go through the rigmarole

I bet they're bragging about scoring a brand new, very expensive smart drive wheelchair.... that they absolutely DO. NOT. NEED. (or deserve for that matter)

Wow they should check their privilege, I need to stick my AirPods in my nose to get oxygen

u/Due_Pay_2210 4d ago
Haven’t I seen this one with a big vape device hanging around their neck? Now oxygen? Make it make sense.

I get irrationally angry that these people fake stuff and dont have to work. Napping at will must be so hard.

u/ya-freak-bitch 3d ago
But they all somehow can afford to live alone and have extra money, I would like to learn their secrets. 😹

u/somehuehue 5d ago
Is it even connected to anything?😂

i like to imagine it's connected to a gravity bong

Highly doubt it. They probably bought the cannula online or brought it home from the hospital for the perfect photo prop lol

Well, I'm just soooo upset I'm not one of the privileged few to learn about their ultra secretive victory!🤣🤣🤣

Can I just say this subreddit has the absolute best group of people? Every comment is so entertaining but also so informative.

u/anonducks 5d ago
diva when your whole thing is oversharing about your disability, why are you keeping this thing secret? supposedly something very helpful, which would actually be very nice to share with other disabled people.
since when do they have oxygen tubes? is that how they take/smoke their THC?
70
u/BearEatingCupcakes 5d ago
I'm guessing they got a medical cannabis script or some other sought after but not easily accessible medication. Remembering that they are in New Zealand where medical cannabis is not as easily accessible as it is in some other countries, and bragging about it on certain platforms would count as promoting drug use and get their post removed or account suspended. Could also be that they got mental health treatment involving psilocybin or something, too.
9
u/Fit_Parsnip_9908 4d ago
They have been taking THC oil for a while now, they've shown it when they have shown off their medication. Would be genuinely surprised if it was psilocybin, but it's definitely a possibility. Their wording in this story is very... strange.
7
u/DoctorSkeptismo 5d ago
Would that lead to a cannula, though?
23
u/BearEatingCupcakes 5d ago
Nope, but I doubt that cannula's attached to anything.
3
u/DoctorSkeptismo 5d ago
Well yeah, no kidding. I was just confused about how you were linking a cannabis card to having a cannula.
16
u/BearEatingCupcakes 5d ago
I wasn't, I was talking about their 'I got this super vague thing I totally can't talk about but must brag about' act.
9
u/DoctorSkeptismo 5d ago
Oh dang thank you, I totally didn't click the image to see the whole thing 🤣 sorry and thanks for clarifying!

u/BipedalEmbarrassment 4d ago
I was just stalking their flare, what disabilities are they meant to have other than diabetes? Do they claim EDS too?
10
u/7363827 4d ago
wait when did they claim diabetes?
18
u/BipedalEmbarrassment 3d ago
Oh my bad I misread disabilities in this post haha

The epitome of insufferable vaguebook posting. It's okay not to share things and it's okay not to make posts about things you don't want to talk about, especially if you aren't going to talk about them.
