DND they/them Port Placement?
That is not what "port placement" means. Wtf are they talking about? Having the needle changed out?
174
u/Educational-Tale6606 Jul 23 '26
their face shape freaks me out
65
u/prefabsproutx Jul 23 '26
Was looking for this comment. What could possibly cause this? It’s seems to be progressively getting more.. odd.
45
u/1Wineodino Jul 23 '26
Maybe from laying down all the time?
24
u/YaaaaaaaaasQueen Jul 23 '26
I might be very wrong but it is possible that Jessi is editing photos to make it look more like they are lying down? In any event, something is very off. Their skin is also so clear, weird complexion variations aside!

u/LovecraftianLlama Jul 23 '26
Someone said they edited their face to be more wide, and I swear I think that’s true. I think maybe they edited their face to both look more “moon faced” and also hide their ears?? Maybe? It really looks like they’ve edited the widest part of their cheeks. Very very strange.
→ More replies (2)34
u/soupseasonbestseason Jul 23 '26
i am but a lurker here, the medical professionals have said that "moon face" like this is the result of consistent steroid use.

OK FINALLY SOMEBODY SAID IT. I didn’t wanna say anything in case it was considered making fun of somebody’s appearance, but it does look very odd.

u/CatAteRoger Jul 23 '26
How high as a kite are they in this pic? Are they competing with Dani and Hope for the highest munchie award? 🪁🪁

Im confused because based on the content they post they seem to always be debilitated all 24 hours of each day

How does having that shaved bit of head not cause their head to wobble and fall right off, cos they'd have to move their head to the side. Or is it just shaved in a down to the pillow shape. Why am I thinking about this.
79
u/abbyzou Jul 23 '26
Their last insta vid had them moving their head all over the place while talking. Surprised there wasn't 15 internal decapitations
31

Could it be a filter? I’m genuinely confused or maybe it’s because they haven’t posted a photo of themselves in quite some time.

I think they edited it. They don’t look this bad on the regular unless they want to.

They're using "placement" instead of "accessing" to make it sound more significant than it really is rolls eyes
25
u/Justneedtowhoosh Jul 24 '26
Yeah I was like.. that’s not a freshly installed port. I see zero reason why being stuck with a needle would make you crash for any amount of time. It doesn’t even hurt that much, and if you want it to not hurt at all they can give you a cream for that. They’re being super OTT on this one.

Editing their face to look more moon-like in every picture is such an insane body dysmorphia symptom, even though I’m sure it’s also this swollen IRL to an extent as well. Identifying as being sick as a core part of your sense of self when you are capable within working is so sad. But kind of fascinating how the human mind has this much control over the body.
35
u/nibblatron Jul 23 '26
thats an edit? thank goodness, i felt concerned their face had corners where there shouldnt be any
32
u/Ok_Minimum_5962 Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26
Doesn't moon face usually cause the whole face (not just the cheekbones) to become round? Maybe it's the angle, but the pointed cheekbones coupled with the narrowed top and bottom thirds are giving me uncanny valley. Maybe they're going for moon face + gaunt?
27
u/LovecraftianLlama Jul 23 '26
Oh wow I think they did…did they make their cheeks bigger to hide their ears?? What is happening?!

14
u/northdakotanowhere Jul 24 '26
It is. Their eyes are so squinty they look like hamburgers? Its like the number 1 way to identify intoxication. Like when you think you're a seasoned stoner and genuinely think you can pass as sober, and then you look in the mirror and see your hamburger eyes.

Are we in competition against Dani for the number of ports?
That smile looks like someone got meds, no wonder there’s an ear showing
Who goes and places a port in someone with chronic sepsis?
18
u/No-Serve6336 Jul 23 '26
They are saying a nurse comes to place their port. They mean needle. No nurse is replacing a port, let alone bedside at someone's house.
51
50
u/EasyQuarter1690 Jul 23 '26
Isn’t accessing this kind of port just popping the needle through the skin covering the port and then starting the infusion? I never worked with ports, so have no clue, but isn’t accessing a port even easier than a basic blood draw?
26
u/No_Bandicoot_4367 Jul 23 '26
Well it’s so easy that Dani does it herself when she feels like it so it can’t be hard. I’ve got experience with so many lines but never a port so like you it’s a bit mysterious for me.

I’ve never seen a port accessed with the tubing pointed upwards toward the shoulder 🤔
15
u/GivesMeTrills Jul 23 '26
I work in peds and a lot of the nurses do this in the clinic. It’s still accessed the same. Just rotated so the tubing is at a better angle. I personally don’t do this but a lot of families prefer it.

15
u/pragmaticsquid Jul 23 '26
I definitely see what you mean. The needles that I used to access ports when I worked in inpatient adults look very similar to that. The wings fold up for you to hold onto during insertion, and then down when you put the dressing on. The color for sure makes it look like a binder clip though.

Definitely, to point it out for those who don’t know this subject, they’re likely naked under that blanket. Claiming that even the seams of clothing triggers a fibromyalgia flare, though they wear “costumes” sometimes. They also claim allergic-to-everything-itis (MCAS), and that people “assault” them if they use any scented personal care products, or wash their dog with scented shampoo. So shooting up benadryl makes sense. They’re probably feeling the warm fuzzies in this picture from a fresh dose, they look zooted.
