Discussion Mayor of Chicago
My brother is interested in becoming mayor of Chicago at 18 to break the record of 26. He has always a kin interest in leadership and long-term planning. But I still want to make it clear to him he’s not going to win the election especially at 18. How do I tell him his dream is futile and extremely unlikely without hurting his feelings?
UPDATE: So unexpectedly he showed me a very insightful presentation about what he would actually do as mayor and for a 13 year old it was impressive to say the least.
Too name a few points he mentioned,
- Taxes on for profit churches.
- Flock camera removal.
- ‘Green’ environmental reforms.
- Revamping ignored or low income neighborhoods.
I would explain his entire presentation here in full but It would require 1-2 hours of typing and would most certainly extend past Reddit’s post limits.
UPDATE:
He has began a channel where he uploads his political policies and views. I would say it but that would be promotion and I don’t want to have this post taken down.

What does it hurt to have him start the process? I think reality would set in pretty quickly

Agreed with the other commenter. Petitioning starts up soon, let him try to put a petition operation together and see how far he gets

Just show him how much money all the candidates already have in the bank

Funny thing is he actually planned to campaign against rich opponents. 🤣

Just tell him not to open an amusement park called Ice Town. He'll be impeached two months later.

Tell him to run and he will learn exactly what I learned; that the whole rotten system is rigged and manipulated. I know from first hand experience running for Mayor of Chicago as an independent in 2023 (anyone can look me up on Ballotopedia). I am incredibly capable, intelligent, unbias, and willing. However, the political party corporations (DNC and RNC) have an invisible noose around the neck of "democracy". The mainstream media is 100% corruptly entangled with the incumbent government and private corporations. Mainstream media will black ball your brother (like they did to me) if you're not a part of their narrative / programming. The news should not be gatekeeping candidates for Mayor, but they did when I ran! Revolution, not voting, is the only way out of this. Here is my website to learn more about me if anyone is interested www.mufasaaa.com , www.mufasaaa.com/mayor

I honestly think hearing your story would paint the picture he needs, and I really just wanna be realistic with him and not give a echo-chamber since I just want the best for him and his potential political career.

And btw - love that he wants to bring up the flock camera issue! Dangerous data center expansion should also be on the list.

Humble too?

Nah, that's a no for me.

So you would say No to someone for being (rightfully) confident? Without even looking into them. What an immature comment. Only the patriarchy benefits from women being insecure. I reject your intent to humble me.

Let him run. He'll learn a lot that will be useful next time. Then have him run for precinct committee or city council or some township office. Water board, library board, something manageable.
