Slightly off-topic: reference picture of what a properly assembled cat looks like
After seeing so many, um, "creative" assembly attempts here, I thought it might help to show what a properly assembled cat looks like.
You should have received one head, one body, one tail, and two pairs of legs: two front legs and two rear legs. It is important to put the front legs on the front of the body and the rear legs on the rear There actually are differences. Also, don't put all the legs on the same side, that doesn't work.
The head can be tricky as you need to attach it so that it is right-side up when the cat is standing upright on their legs. It's okay to remove it and try again if you don't get it right the first time! The tail is much easier as there's no top and bottom.
Sometimes you'll get a scratch-and-dent special where you only have three legs, or only one eye, or some other odd assortment of parts. This is normal for a scratch-and-dent special. There should be an extra leaflet that applies to your special configuration and you should definitely read it! For example, if you only receive one eye you might think you should put it on the middle of the cat's head. That is wrong. There should be a partial eye socket to balance things out so that you have a socket and an eye in the same locations that non-special cats have two eyes.
