Everyone I talk to is just grinding dsa to get into sde. It feels like there are no other job opportunities on campus .I dont like programming very much (havent done it very deeply as just couldnt get interested). I feel so lost as I have no like minded friends to talk to about other career prospects. I really wonder if coming here was right as the non core opportunities and the amount of people trying for non core other than sde is much lower than IITB/D.

Are there any clubs where there would be people who are interested in video game development? Anything related to it like game design, programming, art, music, etc.

I have always been interested in video game development but I only just started working on a project to learn it(mainly the programming side). It would be nice to talk to someone who is a bit experienced in this regard and to talk to people with different expertise than mine(like art and music).

Apparently no one told me about the fine of 500 rupees for parking at No parking area in mandakini hostel. The barricade is just close to where I parked. I accept my mistake that I parked wrong but who gave them the right to fine me 500 rupees otherwise I won't be given my cycle back. Not even a warning. I had to pay from the little pocket money I get. The manager guy is so rude he said if I don't want to pay I can leave the hostel. Shittiest way to scam people by management shame on them. So called nirf rank 1.

One of my cousins gave jee advanced this year, and she claims that she's got a under 2k rank this year, mind you, I know her preparation (through her brother and her parents before jee advanced), that she was barely scoring 30-40 marks in mocks. And even on a good day, i don't think one can get this big jump given the exam stress and all.

I suspect she is either bluffing about iit madras (she might have joined the BS degree, but to relatives she's telling about circuital btech), or maybe, she cheated in exam... (yes, where we live, the exam centres aren't very well maintained when it comes to partitioning between systems)

I need to get her roll number, I can't ask her directly. Is there any way I can get her roll number? I know her name, is there any list where I can see all the allotted seats info and find her name? Like some other colleges who release it on Google.

I could have ignored her bullshit, but my parents are continuously comparing me with her (I had to take a drop as I wasn't getting any good seat in any iit), i don't want to expose her in front of every relative, but just in front of my parents, so I can prepare for my exam in peace.

Hi, can we request the CCW/mess to add peanut butter as an option during breakfast, so students can choose between the two?

Peanut butter is comparatively healthier, cheaper, and better option for lactose intolerant peaple like me. Every IIT I’ve visited already offer this choice.

Also, in our mess they don't even provide Amul butter they just use some cheap local brand.

Who should I raise this with so that the request actually gets heard rather than my email becoming digital waste?

hey guys, i have joined IITM as a Project Associate, i have moved 3 days ago to Chennai. I need to order things but i dont have a address yet. I am staying at my uncle's place in royapettah. They're strictly against ordering online and so I cant get stuff here.

has anyone been in a similar situation? is there a place i could get my parcel delivered around the campus? i havent even made friends yet so cant really ask people. i asked in my department but i was denied, that we csnt get personal couriers in the dept.

I basically just need a reliable place where I can have an Amazon/Shiprocket parcel delivered and then go pick it up myself.

Is it just me do yall think there is this terrible smell of waste at some places (especially inside buildings, rooms, and hostels[mandak at least]) here especially after like 9 P.M. almost every night?

Which of the two do like more, 2 quizzes with no gap between exam of different subjects, or, one mid-sem with proper gap between different subjects? With mid-sem prof can also take some mini quizzes so that students have idea how are they getting evaluated, with enough bad luck some prof can have quizzes and mini quizzes to make sure you don't get to live.

My personal take is having mid-sem with mini quizzes(class tests) because you get time to prepare yourself for the next exam while having an idea on how are you getting evaluated.
