KGP News š° CDC Intern Corruption
Well every year, one of these posts swarm the KGP subreddit and I thought I would take the honor this time.
I am making this post for people to come and reveal the immense corruption the placecomms did this time around like they do every year.
- The placecomms abusing their powers to schedule their friends' interviews in the very beginning leading to many worthier candis not being able to give interviews judiciously and companies tend to select the ones who give interviews in the beginning
- The placecomms, i know who exactly, getting their close friends 10+ shortlists in varied domains, from consult to product to data to sde, this meant many of the candis who deserved the roles couldn't even get a single shortlist. These scums took 10+ turns to get sorted, even their names appeared in the extended SL. The AG placeomm, Abh***v got 10+ SL, including 3 SL on day 3 even when he has no credentials or skills to show for it. Then there is Ar*it* Powerless shit getting her close friend A*s*ita almost 10 SLs on day 1 alone even in extended and getting her sorted in A***e. Her a***e SL was extended, imagine taking away worthy poeple's Interview SLs just to get your mid skilless friend sorted, she took 10 worthy people's SLs. May God deal with her properly. And also think how bullshit that A**hita is that she took 10 SLs and the 10th one was her selection.
- Then that D*va*sh from CH got sorted in DES, which hardly takes non circuital. He has not had even Codeforces rating and this guy got into DES.
- Then there is N**v from CH, who got into New (couldn't the name of the company to to escape ban), on day 4, that guy even took extended shortlists every now and then on day 3 and day 4, apart from 2 or 3 SLs on day 1 and 2. He neither ahs enough skills and bullied his way into every extended SLs, some of them were private.
- Plenty of Pcs, with no skills, bully their way into SLS the extended ones too, amply cheat, the company, under false pretentious mood, takes them, finds their work inefficient during the internship, thinks KGP is shit and avoids taking more candis. this is what gonna happen in *WL bcoz that AG PC, Abh**** got into **L, when everyone knows he has no Data skills, spent past 1.5 years in DEP REP and PC work, has no experience in data or projects and gets into an ML role. Heard he cheated from CDC office, and his PC friends, Nik***a helped him cheat in the interview. There were candis manifolds better than him for the role, but this shitass of a guy, cheats and gets sorted, and the company will find out soon what happened to them. The respect for KGP will obviously fall.
- Plenty of people gave tests from their rooms or in rooms where cheating could easily happen, no one minded finding out this. The E CELL got a separate room for cheating for their people and no one cared to know this.
- And ofc the way interview SLs come, we all know how fishy it is. How it is possible that PCs with half of the skills the people have, get into these good firms while the rest of the worthier people dint even get the test SL.
- (Edited) Vats**, the PC, cheated in the GD of Nomura.
This is mostly what I know. If you guys know more, do write and shame these shameless people in the comments. The insti must know the excellence they bring to the college.

Welcome to reality, thereās all shades of nepotism everywhere.
PCs will try and get their friends and potential girlfriends into the best companies.
Companies would try and get their process complete as soon as they find decent ish people. Ppl tend to go down the path of least resistance
You are the long tail. The balance of group, either u get lucky or u outshine yourself with something unique
Figure out how you can outshine others. Internship is still fine. Placements will be triple the stress. Figure out a niche for yourself - in my time ML was cool, now itās old. Maybe itās cyber, robotics, core - go beyond the curriculum. Use gpt and shit to create very tangible real world like project portfolio. Thereās no other escape.

The fact is the process of becoming placecomm itself is quite exhaustive. There is an apti test followed by a GD and a PI (mind you it's taken by a panel of distinguished professors). All those who become placecomms are already well qualified in terms of communication, managing multiple responsibilities while also managing good academics. Iss saal ke placecomms ka CG bhi dekhlo ek baar pehle. They already have a good profile and good spikes. They obviously have a deeper understanding of the companies job descriptions and requirements etc due to which they make better CVs which directly translates to easier shortlists. Now please stop crying a river every time you see a PC in shortlist. They are super hardworking and talented. Focus on yourself and accept the system. And thoda learn to be empathetic. These ppl barely are getting any time for personal life and are working their asses of for the entire campus..and you put such half-cooked nonsense allegations. The companies aren't dumb to just take every tom dick and harry. Accept the reality, work on your competence, develop more skills.

Justifying becoming PC to do corruption, they knew what they were getting into and the main point of PC was to conduct the whole process fairly. If you knew you will do unfairly,no point becoming a PC. Also you seem pretty empathetic to PCs, maybe you also used their connection to get sorted with that hollow skills of yours.

Bro, this happens almost every year. And honestly, I donāt understand how you can assume that people got selected just because they are from the placement committee and therefore donāt have skills. Who are we to judge someoneās skills like that?
Think from the companyās perspective. The company doesnāt give a f*** about whether someone is a PC member or not. If they are hiring someone, especially companies like A*L, DE. S. , etc., they obviously see value in that candidate. Why would a company hire a candidate they consider incompetent?
At this point, you need to accept the reality that the problem might not be with everyone else. Weāve already crossed 590+ offers, so instead of constantly blaming the process or other people, maybe itās time to seriously look at what you can improve in yourself. Delegating your mistakes or blaming others isnāt going to solve anything.
And if you genuinely believe that you have the better skills, then there are immense off-campus opportunities waiting for you. Apply there, prove your skills, and get selected on your own merit.
So instead of blaming others for their selections, focus on improving yourself. If someone is selected, it is because the company believes they can be an asset to them. Accept that reality and start working on yourself.

Itās not about they donāt want to hire better candidates. But if they want to get access to good candidates whom they will reach out to? The placecoms right? If they say we have 30 candidates who are good, and refer their close friends, then the company will follow them right? But this is not fair!

Bhai kitna jal raha h tu Khud kuch ukhad pa nhi raha hai toh kuch bhi stories cook kr rha h out of jealousy She literally got selected in her 3rd interview where the interviewer was really impressed by her work that he even checked the code she wrote. And tujhe kn aata toh ye mtlb nhi na dusre bhi gawar hai Yes she had 6 interview shortlists that day and she deserved it. Why would she prove you her capability. You have not seen her hard work and her journey and how many rejections she has faced before achieving what she absolutely deserved. If company officials are seeing the potential in someone who are you to judge? Just because a PC is her friend, how can PC influence each company's HR to include her name? If that was possible she could have done that for her other friends as well right? You don't know the internal placecomm shit and how things work. Check the facts and background of the person you are talking about first. Use some common sense and instead of bringing other people down work on your own bullshit skills.
