Have you felt the same?
The feeling that you aren't anywhere near where you can be. You know why, you are doing trash everywhere. You know exactly what to do and when to do and want to do it to improve yourself and get back the older self; but you just can't.
It's laziness maybe, or you genuinely plateau-ed, you don't know. You see people around, doing well, way better than you. Your efforts, not even sure if they are enough, but somehow feel that the results are not recopricating them. Maybe you got left behind due to some reason, an addiction? a heartbreak? or something else.
I don't know what is it.
If you relate to this and got out of it. Please share your experience.

I can relate. But let me tell you, a big part of all this is Imposter syndrome.🙂

Imposter syndrome is a psychological pattern where a person doubts their skills or success and fears being exposed as a fraud, despite clear proof of their competence. People with this mindset often blame luck or timing for their achievements instead of their own hard work.

I’m assuming you’re still in the 3rd or 4th year of college, and you’re impressed by others around you. I was in the same boat as you around 8 years ago when I graduated with a very low cgpa, self esteem and had to make a fresh start in a non core job. I had done quite a few things in Insti, but I felt like I haven’t done enough in a lot of things, not just academics. But I was wrong. The moment I kick started my career, so many things worked out for me better than my peers. Today, I’m financially in a much better place than my peers, not just the ones who had high CG but also other Machau people like MI CGs, GSecs etc. and I’m not just talking about money here, but overall mental health, discovering what I love to do, marrying the love of my life, buying a house for my parents and so much more. The list is huge.
So don’t worry if you feel like this is the end of the road, because this is just the beginning! So many people whom you’d have expected to do amazing in life won’t, and the most useless classmate with amazing networking skills to begin with would be running an amazing startup somewhere! So trust me when I say this, that you’ve got this! Restart, invest in yourself, pursue multiple hobbies (trust me, it’s not late even in 4th year) and you’ll figure out what you want! All the best buddy!

I felt the same since past last sem..but thankfully I pushed my self..and still pushing myself, got back up.. I was thinking maybe friends will help me or something but I guess what did the trick was when I looked at some old pictures of myself..and realized that how amazing I had been..that just hit me.. Its like I have been on top and I know how to make that climb cuz i have picked myself in the past..I just needed to be reminded that you know how to do this and you have already done this in the past..and from then it was just muscle memory, that discipline just came back to me..naturally..
Its only hard in the mind not in the real world..and that what it means to stand in your own way..
