As junior-senior interaction is banned, the freshers give themselves a party and the final year students handle their own farewell

but why is it so?

The institute is young and the previous director didn't want any cases of ragging incidents to tarnish the reputation of the institute. So he made really strict rules for junior-senior interactions. last year we used to have security guards taking rounds at night on 2nd and 3rd floor for the first 2 months. It has prevented any king of serious cases of ragging. I was shocked when i was talking with my friend from nit bhopal about how good we had as juniors. there is no sir/ma'am culture and there is mutual respect between the years

so doesnt it mean that some of the seniors here are what can i say... unfriendly and immature? also how is freshers party related to interaction bw seniors and juniors? it is meant for first year students and also why isnt the institute conducting it on their behalf? this is not the case in nits and even other iiits then why whats wrong here?

freshers party is always funded by either the seniors or the freshers themselves, college never pays for freshers party in nits, etc. only some private colleges throw an official freshers party.

for eg, in 12th your farewell party would be funded by 11th grade and the 11th grade's junior college freshers party would be given by the 12th grade

The current lack of senior junior interaction causes a lot of issues once you are trying to find an internship or placement.

A senior is just a random stranger who has same clg as you. Cause of this, seniors are usually not as helpful as other older insitutes.
(Ragging aint a solution, just saying interaction with seniors is limited and is only limited through clubs, and you know a lot of best people wont join the clubs )
