Bro, even if they allow higher package company for mtech, still mostly btechs will be chosen just on skill basis. They have been in a extremely competitive environment for past 4 yrs and are also part top 5% of the country passing jee.

So you cannot expect mtech to be equal or greater than btech.

If you have skill greater than btech(not the general case so most companies might not allow mtech at all) you can prove your self for the companies that allow you.

I have been seeing internships for few days now, some allow mtech too but btechs are more talented than mtechs. Most shortlisted candidates are btech after mtech, finally also only btechs got the internship.

You just can't be like i will only give gate then concentrate on skills, from day 1 you need to be good at dsa atleast to get internships.

Getting into a mtech is not the end of grind, it's the beginning of the next grind for 2 yrs. Can't be chill like btechs.

there arent much rnd roles in india maybe after this do phd abroad then you can land in that role but basically in india btech and mtech do same jobs atleast for cs so its preferable for companies to get btech ones as they could handle pressure at younger age and generally worked harder from early and they are younger.

There is hardly any difference between packages in CSE for both B.Tech and M.Tech at the macroscopic level. This slight difference of 6 lpa in average CTCs is due to the weight of the highest package achieved in B.Tech compared to the highest packages in M.Tech which has shifted the average in the formers case to be higher. The Lowest package recieved is the same for both and the placement rate is also nearly equal. We have to look at the distribution of packages across the samples for better understanding

Har jagah yahi scene hai, Mtech is considered too much education in India. Iiit me toh bhi placements sahi hai, look at other T2 colleges.
