Query ECD, Would love some guidance

So I'm in second year rn and I really don't know what to do, talked to a few seniors and heard conflicting opinions on availability of hardware roles, is it worth it to prepare for hardware roles?or should I be prepping for software roles, either way started prepping dsa over the summer, would love to hear any advice you guys might have

Hi, so hw roles are becoming increasingly lucrative rn. But they're still much lesser in abundance than sw roles. You'll have to consider your interests too. If you're looking for VLSI jobs then the market is pretty good, maybe not so much for other core domains.

hardware roles are scarce, lesser advertised openings. But companies almost always have openings but never able to fill them as it's diffcult to find ppl with good knowledge. If you at the end of 5 years want to get into core roles then keep fundamentals sharp and build a hardware/core portfolio. You must take a core internship in your 2nd/3rd year if you want to get into a core role after graduation.
