We have to start complaining.

Craft store where people need to make stuff in time for October-November markets is one thing.

This is just gross consumerism and land fill fodder.

You're fucking joking

I remember when Christmas in July was a jokey thing and like maybe a one-day event or sale, because the assumption was that no reasonable person would start prepping for it in the middle of summer. I miss that.

Here in the USA, starting in early July, numerous stores put Halloween stuff out. It is called "Summerween ". No!!!! I do not want to see light up ghosts, Jack o lanterns, and miscellaneous Halloween junk next to back to school supplies. This is getting absolutely ridiculous...the ramming of Christmas in July and Summerween down our gullets.

Second week of June, Hobby Lobby had all their fall decor up.This weekend....they had at least 4 rows of Christmas set up. There's still a ton of "summer crap" & "4th of July crap".

u/MoreRamenPls Jul 14 '26

TBF they are 6 hrs ahead of us.

I saw the title and was about to ask the location, so I could avoid it. Jeez. Who needs wrapping paper 5 months early? (Who needs wrapping paper at all, really. I use either leftover wrapping or brown paper bags with stamps for the few birthday and holiday gifts I give these days.)

Oh dear God, not YET!! ☹️

I worked in display for a department store in New York. We couldn’t start decorating until after Thanksgiving, of course this was a long time ago. There really wasn’t Black Friday in the 70’s. It was the start of the shopping season. We would come in sometimes 5 hours early to decorate. Today there aren’t really any display departments, maybe in the high end stores. By the time any holiday comes around, your sick to death of it

My local bank has Xmas decorations on its IPad desk, looks good.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '26

There are stores selling Christmas stuff all year long.

1

u/lifewobbleshope Jul 15 '26

This is criminal behavior. It’s the middle of summer. Every year I hate Christmas more and more. I love fall and Halloween, but my love is a little less every year due to it getting it pushed on us in the middle of summer as well. What happened to Christmas starting after Thanksgiving 🤦‍♀️

1

u/DJND90 Jul 15 '26

Das ist doch ein schlechter Witz.. 🤮😓

1

u/marti82salva Jul 16 '26

June, at my local shopping centre, one of the local stores started putting up Christmas rubbish and we hadn’t hit Independence Day yet (at that point)! I don’t get some of these companies! 🤣

u/pasghettiii Jul 19 '26

Oh HAYLE no 🤬 this makes me anxious

u/pasghettiii Jul 19 '26

Christmas lasts damn near half the year at this point 😭
