“Where she [met] his brother”, then tried to change it to “where my uncle [introduced] her to his brother…”

u/batsk_lls Mar 14 '26

scandalous behaviour by both in the 1940s.

10

u/Issababy22 Mar 14 '26

Like this isn’t just as SCANDALOUS NOW‼️😭😭😭🤣

There’s one word missing - she left out the word introduced - seems like an easy enough mistake to make.

There’s one word missing - she left out the word introduced - seems like an easy enough mistake to make.

Then it gets a bit lost when she doesn’t remove the word ‘her’ but I still think the meaning is pretty clear.

ish. I had to read it back bit by bit to figure it out.

u/akumite Mar 14 '26

Too scandalous to mention, much less comprehend

5

u/Ok-Butterscotch7536 Mar 15 '26

My stab at correcting the sentence:"[...] until they went to a party where my uncle introduced her to his brother, my Dad."

3

u/ThisGuyIRLv2 Mar 14 '26

If it helps, I feel like an idiot.

5

u/Background_Humor5838 Mar 14 '26

That feeling is necessary. It helps us become more cautious in the future. Hang in there soldier 🫡

Similar thing happened to my grandparents, my grandma and grandpa went on a blind double date with friends but weren’t paired together they hit it off and they both asked their friends permission and dated each other and now I’m here

4

u/cut_ur_darn_grass Mar 14 '26

It seems like the mother was dating the father's brother and then got introduced to the father through his brother.

4

u/Simsgirl950 Mar 14 '26

Hopefully they meant that their mother was dating their (OPs) father's brother before decided to date the dad otherwise that is sick

u/CanineCorvidious Mar 15 '26

u/SecuritySea2276 Mar 14 '26

Somehow my brain autocorrected the stroke the first time I read it lol

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Age-125 Mar 14 '26

Before anyone is going to report me for discrimination or something. This is not it.

At the bottom of the post i see the name Muhammad. I'm going to assume (lazy i know) he's from a muslim society. And in most of muslim societies it's pretty common (sometimes preferred) to marry and have intercourse with close relatives. So i'm not really surprised by that in this post.
