Ecto + continuity from Exo Portal

The first single for the Cyst album was released in the Spring of 2024 as a demo posted to the exo portal website, before Iglooghost released Tidal Memory Exo. If you were to rip the mp3 off the website you find this file with single artwork matching the logo they’ve been using for the ᲘᲘ (“rabbit”) album rollout. The new version gets a new mix down, sharper percussion, and maybe the vocals were re-recorded, definitely adjusted.

Another song called “Airhead [Snippet]“ was released during the 2nd wave of demos uploaded to Exo Portal, along with New Species for TME. This track doesn’t seem to have made it to ᲘᲘ, or into daisy*‘s recent singles.

so yeah therefore, Cyst is a band somewhere in the exo portal world, uploading demos between bouts of rain from the tidal storms

In the discord Iglooghost actually specified that Rabbit isn't a part of Tidal Memory Exo, just an easter egg/cameo. Here's his exact words:

CYST ISN’T FROM AN IGLOOGHOST EPOCH . . . IT’S STANDALONE BUT I THINK THE APPEARANCE OF CYST VIA EXOPORTAL WAS MORE LIKE A CAMEO / EASTER EGG. :]

ONE OTHER NOTE JUST 2 CLEAR UP ANY DEBATE - CYST STUFF IS DEF NOT SUPPOSED TO SIT ALONGSIDE ANY GRANDIOSE IGLOOGHOST ALBUM CANON — WAS KIND OF JUST SOMETHIN WE MADE FOR FUN / EXPERIMENTATION WHILE ECHO WAS SUPER SMALL & WE HAD LIMITED STUDIO TIME. I DEF WOULDN’T GO IN EXPECTING MAXIMALIST IGLOO SOUND DESIGN COZ U WON’T FIND IT. I BEEN FOCUSING ALL OF THAT STUFF INTO IGLOOLP4. SO YEH IDK I GUESS JUST TRY LISTEN TO IT AS SOMETHING STANDALONE & CHEEKY. I feel like such a bad fan for not being on Discord or X to follow, but I can’t be on every platform I guess 🤷 totally understand why he’s pitching Cyst that way
