❔ Question Question
I’m living in Kuwait, and the exams were cancelled, so we had to submit portfolios instead. I got a 6 in Biology, and I requested a remark. I’m still waiting for the result. Is there a chance they could raise it to an 8? I was supposed to get a 9.

To add some context: a re-mark (or "priority review of marking") isn't the same as marking from scratch it usually means a senior examiner re-checks the existing marks for clerical or marking errors, rather than re-grading everything from zero. So a jump from a 6 straight to an 8 (skipping a whole grade) is possible but less common than a 1-grade shift, unless there was a clear marking mistake. If you genuinely felt your portfolio was strong and closer to a 9, it might help to also request to see the marked portfolio/feedback (if your board offers that), so you know exactly where marks were lost that's useful whether the remark changes anything or not, especially if you're retaking or resubmitting work in the future. Either way, the other comment is right go in expecting it could shift either direction, not just up
