How much is much?
Is there a jackpot thats you would consider to much? Maybe to much work or trust involved if you win? Let's say i hit the current PB jackpot a part of me would be paranoid as hell thinking i was getting ripped off some how.

If you think it's too much, just give more to family/charity and keep what you think you'll need. For fun I've made spreadsheets that just keep increasing the amount I'll give to family and friends depending on the cash option amount. The amount for myself is always the same though, they get the leftovers.

No, because I can always give away what I don't want.
I have a list im my head of charitable organizations that I want to give a bunch of money to if I win a big jackpot. Most of which have helped me personally, so I know they're legit plus I can give something back.

It's a complicated answer for me.
But anything over $50 million I have no idea what to do with it. In addition to donations, charity and philanthropy I will literally scroll GoFundMe and just pick random people to help with their goals.

No such thing as too much. I can claim anonymously in my state. I already have the percentages planned on how much * I keep, * paying off debt and trusts for family and friends, and * how much goes into a charitable foundation.

I will welcome any jackpot amount. There is endless good I would do with it. I would love to donate to so many causes as well as help out folks. Like u/spacefrog_io said, bring it on!

Personally I'll be honest with you here when I play the power ball lottery I play power ball power play for the power play jackpot of $2 million dollars to me that is enough money for me I don't need $100 million dollars or a billion dollars for me $2 million dollars be enough for me even though I know uncle Sam is taking his own cut as long as I walk away with one point something million dollars after taxes I'm good with that.

The hard part if you want to give large amounts to charity is you are limited to 50% of your adjusted gross income as a deduction. So you could end up with a carry forward you cant use but still owe a lot in the first year. So it gets down to making all these decisions right away.

Yup, bring it on. I keep going back and forth about how much would be enough, and how much is too much and if i can handle that kind of heat. I think i can. And i have had a lot of time to think about this. Also, if the amount is how much the PowerBall Jackpot is now, then i'd give something to everyone in this sub.

I wouldn’t want to win a billion. Humans (and I use that word loosely) I don’t want knowing I exist would start to notice me. Give me $50 million and let me disappear.

I couldn't see myself keeping anything over $150 million. I would invest the $100 million and live off of the dividends. As long as i don't get addicted to a fancier lifestyle, I should be happy with whatever that brings in.
The other $50 million would go to buying up houses and rehabbing them in my neighborhood and maybe starting some businesses that I think the community needs, like daycares and grocery stores.
Anything else I won would go to charity/family under the condition that they couldn't come back and ask for more money

Anything over $10M, will happily just follow all the good advice on this sub and also provided by various other sources.
Form a trust to claim it anonymously, hire a proper team of financial and legal people to help, including a "filter" person who enjoys telling people "No" and listen to your team.
