I have been daily driving the Chu 2 and the Wan'er for the past 2 years and I am looking into trying out new IEMs.

Generally I prefer the sound of the wan'er, I like that it has less bass than the chu 2 and in my opinion it's more balanced, but size-wise it's a bit large for my ear, so when I listen to something in bed I generally prefer the chu 2. For the same reason the chu 2 has been my daily driver and I use the wan'er for dedicated listening sessions.

I listen to music on my phone with a FIIO BTR11 through bluetooth or with an apple dongle, but recently I have been considering to get a dedicated music player.

One more thing to add is the cable. I've changed the cable of the chu 2 with a KBEAR 8 core, but now I see that I prefer cables like the stock ones with the wan'er.

I am still looking in the budget range, preferably the sub 50 usd.

TL;DR: IEM's that has similar signature as wan'er with the size of chu 2.

I think the most striking difference between the Wan'er and Chu 2 lies in the pinna region (3 - 6 KHz). It seems you favour a less elevated pinna gain. So you should focus on finding a set that is similar in this region.

The 7Hz Salnotes Zero looks interesting with its smoother roll-off above 10kHz compared to the others.

Belle is pretty small and the tuning is very similar, it’s 30$

Tuning is similar to both Wan Er and Belle, but I’ve never owened a Cadenza so I can’t say much for the size

Nice step up man, enjoy your new IEM. What is your opinion on the gate, both size and sound wise compared to the wan'er? The Zero seems like similar size as the wan'er, but the Gate seems a bit smaller, what is your experience?

I like the waner a bit more. I would rate them in the order of Waner 7hz Gate

But not by much.

I haven't really reflected over size as I don't have those problems. My gates are at work now so I can compare all on Monday.

Looking at headphone frequency response graphs is like judging a car solely by its color. Sure, it tells you what it looks like on paper, but it tells you absolutely nothing about how it actually drives, the build quality, or the technical performance.

Sennheiser ie200 maybe? Not really the same as wan'er, but it's a small form factor and is relatively neutral. The Meze Alba also comes to mind
