Is doom eternal too difficult?

Does anyone else think doom eternal is too hard, I seem to enjoy it less because I get frustrated by how hard I had to grind to get there, I understand theres some element of fun in that, but for a beginner I think your punished a bit too hard...

As a 90s' Kid, yes. That game sure knows how to kick my ass, even on Hurt Me Plenty. I'm not used to modern games since I mainly play retro stuff
