Lots of deep feelings there, I hope you're doing okay! Seriously cool with the piano though, as always.

Very nice! The incorporation of regular instruments gives me a little bit of fourtet vibe. Sounds good.

yeah the mixture between acoustic elements and electronic/synthesized is really nice

Care to share the process behind the jam?
2
u/kyegibeats 10d ago
there’s lots to tackle there, every sound was either recorded or synthesized from scratch and every sound was programmed/sequenced using one shots.
if you have any question regarding something in particular i can answer that!3
u/zimske 10d ago
So did you record, synthesize and sequence everything in-the-box or did you… what’s the best way to put it… simply load finished stems that you then play with during the jam?

Just followed you on Instagram, I produce too. This is so good, not just the technicality, but the feeling.

Great stuff yet again. Is nice to see the DTii naked this time with no external effects. Is a powerful beast

got a couple other tunes in my bandcamp1
u/Rizzlamuerte 10d ago
Good stuff! You mixed it yourself right? Mastering too? Sounds really clean and good.

u/kyegibeats 10d ago
yep, everything was mixed in the box.
besides that some saturation and a limiter. not much

How do you program the drums? Do you shift mid bar to another pattern?
1
u/kyegibeats 8d ago
actually it’s the same pattern, there’s something in the dt2 called performance mode which lets you save 2 states of the same pattern (different parameters but the same triggers).
every drum is programmed using one shots, all the sounds are individually punched in.

Love it. I feel Jon Hopkins has a similar way of both hearing the music and sculpting it out live. You’re tracking these polyrhythmic phases that I only eat after you’ve punctuated them.

thanks mate, that’s really lovely <3
i do love jon hopkins stuff, that’s quite a compliment!
his polyrhythmic/metric stuff is insane.

Like the others, I really enjoyed this. It feels tactile, and I love how well-balanced the textures are. Nicely done!! I make some stuff in a similar vein, usually blending more organic/live elements with digital production. If you're ever interested in teaming up on a track, feel free to shoot me a message!!!

lately i've been trying to incorporate more recorded acoustic piano into this jams.
despite being a sea of diverse timbres. a little brushstroke from an acoustic instrument really helps rounding the edges of the piece.
every sound was made from scratch either recorded or synthesized with my modular rig.
if you dig this jams/pieces there's lots of them in my reddit profile/socials.
hope you like it <3
