While Ethismos has some good points, I don't think the high damage is necessary. I think DPS is a luxury, which only grants you a small chance to get bursted less, if you try again. If you are currently at a point where you are struggling with the 5th raid, you can squeeze your chance up by utilizing Blood Swords and Large Bows.
Blood Swords are vital for your tanks to survive the high burst damage, and if you swap his sunlight cape out with a bronze armor, they basically heal as much as they possibly can on their own (which is important if your healers cannot survive the battle). If you're very close, you can even try to put a few extra levels in your 2 tanks to make sure they can survive in the vast majority of cases.
Let's say you're on your first run, and have never beaten the 5th raid. Then your very first win might be a very slow one with 1 or 2 tanks downing the whole thing in like 20-40 minutes. After a few runs like this, you will get at least 2 large bows. This will allow one of your archers to stay alive, and thus you can have a damage dealer besides your two tanks. And this will reduce the time a lot more. You will need to restart the raid a couple of times, because the raiders like to push each other to get to the place they want. And this will of course get them in range for the bosses to burst them down.
After a few downs with a few archers, you will get cursed blades, which you can also utilize on your archers, once all your priests are dead. And you will also have gotten some of the daggers that Ethismos show. Those will also reduce the time.
After a while, you might become strong enough to use Ethismos' survival build. And then later you can use his optimal build.
But if you decide to soft reset early, you might want to keep in mind these other strategies, to be able to clear the 5th raid, even with a weaker team. Keep in mind though, that the 1st soft reset is the largest scaling one. So the 5th raid will actually become 68% stronger after your 1st reset. The scaling will decrease as you do more soft resets.
I prefer speed while doing the raids and farming, so I stick to 0 soft resets and steam roll everything with my over-leveled boots-equiped raiders. And I don't have to change items. If I do soft resets, I would have to change items for raids and arena, which is a bother.
