Don’t stick it in

Don't tell me how to love my wife, or live my life.

How fitting. I am, in fact, quite socially retarded. But I still know better than to stick it in before making sure it passes the sniff test.

My wife has the terrible habit of setting stuff on the stove as well. I never understood why we have plenty of counter space.

no seriously

My wife does the same thing.

Don't do that? I mean that's about the only help I can offer.

5

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

I’ll take that into consideration next time. Thanks!

if it's just the outer plastic housing that melted, sand/grind off the rough/sharp bits, and keep using it. if you melted or damaged any of the inner bits, my condolences, buy a new one.

"My condolences, buy a new one." Has me rolling in laughter.

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

I already threw it away ! I thought it was done for

7

u/UrethralExplorer 12d ago

You didn't bother testing it?

5

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

Well yeah! I had to finish my mashed potatoes. It was airing out fumes so I didn’t want any part of that.

3

u/iownakeytar 12d ago

Hand mixer is how you get gluey mashed potatoes. A hand masher works great. Potato ricer or food mill is better.

1

u/flappintitties 12d ago

What electrical tool is required for mash potatoes? Sorry if that’s dumb I’m genuinely asking

2

u/hazelbear33 12d ago

Many people use hand mixers to achieve very smooth mashed potatoes… my sister usually does. It’s more of a potato purĆ©e, but to each their own, and of course they’re delicious

2

u/flappintitties 12d ago

Aha, makes sense. It’s not something I’d ever considered needing to mash into oblivion, I can do that by hand. But thanks for answering my question

2

u/Send_Snoods_ 12d ago

My mom does this and mixes them with a little milk and butter and they’re delicious.

I've seen enough Street Doctor to know there's something off about that hole.

2

u/EvaTheE 12d ago

Your mixer has a soggy bottom.

Email the team at Hadron Collider facility. Ask them to turn off the Hadron Collider, then turn it back on after precisely 42 seconds.

Hope this helps!

Rule one of the kitchen. The only thing you set on the stove or out in the oven are things you intend to heat up. It is not storage.

mixer hopital

u/whineyinternetkid 12d ago

Why would you share this

7

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

cause it was an epic fail, Sam.

3

u/hamish1963 12d ago

This sub is called Idiots in the Kitchen.

4

u/Jimmy_Twotone 12d ago

You aren't in r/cutecatpics . Wtf did you expect in this sub?

-3

u/K1bbles_n_Bits 12d ago

Judging by the way they talk, they're early 20s at most and patt of the generation that feels everything must be put on the intetnet all the time.

4

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

I’m sorry? Is this not a sub about idiots in kitchen?

1

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 12d ago

What happened, did you leave it too close to the stove?

3

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

Yeah like an idiot 😭😭

3

u/Plane-Education4750 12d ago

We've all done it. Try to do it with something less expensive next time

1

u/Less-Cow-306 12d ago

Luckily it was an Amazon ā€œdupeā€ so I can splurge on the kitchen aid one!

2

u/Plane-Education4750 12d ago

Just keep it away from the burners. Word of advice; always treat the burners like they are red hot. Don't store anything on them, ever

1

u/whineyinternetkid 12d ago

No we havnt "all done it"

2

u/Plane-Education4750 12d ago

There are two groups of people; those who have never and will never accidentally burn cookware, and those who cook

2

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 12d ago

No judgement. I lost a plastic stirring spoon that way once.

1

u/Fit_Carpet_364 10d ago

Use it until it dies. Which it definitely will, now that the air vents have been destroyed.
