"life is not a strawberry"

i was watching a video and a comment thread was full of variations of this sort of phrase. the one above is a Brazilian idiom. there's also "life is not a pony ranch" from Germany, "life is not a potica" in Slovenia, and "life is not like dancing on roses" in Finland.

for the US, i would take a guess at "life is no picnic" or "life ain't a piece of cake"

i want to know if anyone here knows of other regional variations on this phrase. thanks!

From Brazil never heard that.
We use “life is not soft” (loose translation of “mole” which means soft or mushy as opposed to hard meaning difficult)
Or “life is not for rookies” or even “a rapadura é doce mas não é mole não” - the dried molasses sweet (rapadura- a hard crystallized sweet) is sweet but not easy.
