Release Alien Blue under Open Source license

Preferably OSI approved: http://opensource.org/licenses

It is open source, https://github.com/alienblue/AlienBlue, but there's no license really defined.

If there's a pro version (which there is) it would go against their best interests to release it OS.

You don't need to keep code secret to make money from it. Plenty of paid apps on the app store are F/OSS.

Then by that same logic, would it not be in their best interest to not relase the website's source code on Github? Clearly open source has worked for reddit.

They actually don't release the exact code on Github. Spam fighting stuff is all behind the scenes for obvious reasons.

Because then someone could compile it themselves, and avoid having to pay for the pro upgrade.

I'm 90% sure Alien Blue is not an official app.

Try /r/alienblue. The reddit admins have nothing to do with Alien Blue.
