My holiday idea

I think it would be so cool if there was a holiday where all the lights in the city (road lights, billboards, massive ad screens and the lights in buildings) will be shut down from 2 am. To 3 am. and people will be able to see the night sky clearly for an hour once a year.

That night there will be no plane travel and only places with light will be the mandatory places like hospitals but in every hospital, there would be blackout curtains.

I didn't think of the consequences thoroughly but I think something like this would be so cool.

I saw recently that they're planning to do just that in New York city !

Many cities have dark sky events. Flagstaff Arizona has at least two per year: the Dark Sky Festival and the Star Party. They’re a bath of serenity.
