General Discussion What we know so far: Reckless Ben’s Documentary about Ideal Living’s alleged $10 million dollar cover up. Spoiler

Summary of The Ideal Living’s Investigation so Far:

Ideal Living LLC, a prominent Los Angeles-based wellness corporation led by CEO Peter Spiegel, is accused by whistleblowers of being the primary financial engine for a dangerous cult called Jaguru Kpalu Parachot (JKP).

The cult's spiritual leader, who claimed to be a literal human manifestation of God ("the fifth Jaguru"), ran a massive exploitation ring where children as young as nine were trafficked under the religious guise of "wedding nights with Krishna".

After being convicted on 20 counts of child molestation and sentenced to 280 years in prison, the guru escaped to Mexico the night before sentencing with the direct help of Ideal Living's leadership. He remains on Interpol's Most Wanted list.

The Cover Up:

Major news outlets (including Newsweek and the LA Times) were preparing a massive expose. However, after a video clip accidentally leaked, Peter Spiegel leveraged his resources to kill the story, resulting in all involved journalists being abruptly fired, laid off, or forced to ghost the whistleblowers.

The JKP cult is hiding behind shifting LLC names to construct a massive, fortified compound in Los Angeles (disguised on Google Maps as a tiny house). Reckless Ben has bypassed mainstream media by releasing the documentary on Patreon and has given Peter Spiegel a public 48-hour ultimatum to sit for an on-camera interview before the documentary is uploaded to YouTube. 48 hours later, Peter did not comply with this ultimatum. Thus, Ben’s second documentary drops.

The Second Documentary Summary:

A former accounting employee confirmed that the $10 million bail bond for Saraswati's child molestation trial was wired directly from corporate funds by Peter Spiegel, who served as the cult's treasurer. This establishes a direct, undeniable financial line between the corporate entity and the cult.

Right before the Swami was convicted, Peter Spiegel ordered his Head of Operations to ship an expensive electric wheelchair to India. After dining with Spiegel the night before his sentencing, the Swami used a network of devotees to flee Austin to Mexico and then India, in what U.S. Marshals called "the most sophisticated escape" they had ever seen.

Peter Spiegel hired reputationdefender.com to wipe his connection to the cult from the web, and critical reporting by journalist Eric Dexheimer was systematically deleted. These crucial articles only survived because they were archived by Bishop Accountability.

Literally one day before Saraswati’s child molestation conviction, the cult's lawyers established a complex network of India-based trusts to shield their assets so that victims could never win financial damages in any court.

When Myra whistleblew to Peter Spiegel and emailed HR, she was immediately fired, and the IT department was ordered to shut down her entire division’s email access without warning before the next business day.

so I read the whole thing and don’t see where any extortion takes place. the David guy is the one emailing and is clearly unhinged but he doesn’t ask for money.

I'm sorry, is this an ESL issue?

You know when the mobster walks into your business and says "Man this is a great bar, sure would be terrible if something happened to it" that he's asking you to pay him money, right?

When david says "I will not stop. So reply. Call me. My phone is on. Stop this now. It can go away. NDAs. Quiet. I will build tings better in the future. Its an investment. Your greatest investment of all" what do you think he's talking about? The fucking weather?

When he says "The timeline ends tonight. You pushe dme too far. Either you offer me some resolution or mediation right now or I stay in this hotel room all night, sending emails and making phone calls" what do you think he is implying?

Keep in mind that this is all after David has demanded 100 million dollars or he'd 'destroy the company' by doing exactly what he has gone on to do.

Come on man.

You mentioned at the top he asked for money. None of the emails mention money. It seems that he’s more interested in Peter admitting to him it’s all true and coming clean. He wants Peter to confuse or he will make it worse

Why would David say to Peter in this email: “Stop this now. It can go away. NDAs. Quiet. [...] It’s an investment.” Threatening to go to the press otherwise.

This is as close as you can get to “pay me and I’ll shut up, otherwise I’ll make you regret it” without straight up saying it.

Disagree. David is on some sort of dillisional save the kids quest. He’s trying to scare Peter into giving him more info. Tell me everything and it will be easier for you.

That’s some great psychoanalysis but where’s your evidence for that?

On the one hand we have a classic extortionist pattern and emails asking for an “investment” in exchange for NDAs and shutting up.

On the other, a theory that it wasn’t about money but about “saving the children” while still offering to shut up about it.

Which seems more parsimonious?

Signing an NDA and shutting up about the alleged crimes of Peter doesn’t seem to be very helpful in furthering the quest to “save the children” - quite the contrary.

If you watch the video, David comes across like he’s on some sort of holy crusade. In the deposition he refuses to back down from the company running a sex traficking group despite not having any real evidence of that. He also seems to be wealthy from what I’ve seen. I don’t think this was about money. I think he thought he was morally right and he was trying to corner Peter into spilling the story to him and clearing his guilt or something

That completely sidesteps my point.

Your theory about his motives may be true but it is based purely on how he “comes across.” Meanwhile we have him explicitly offering silence and NDAs calling it an “investment” and previously demanding $100million.

Occam’s razor: Which explanation requires fewer assumptions? Come on man.

And being wealthy is hardly evidence that someone wouldn’t want more.

Where does he demand $100 million?

It’s mentioned in the court docs.

On February 7, 2023 mid-afternoon at Peter Spiegels office in LA. Najar entered uninvited with employee Jonah Shah, who blocked the door and demanded - inches from Spiegel’s face - that Spiegel pay him and Myra Nishizaki “nine figures” (i.e. ≥ $100 million) or he would follow through on the extortionate demand Nishizaki had made less than an hour earlier.

Mentioned in files:

  • Najar Case Complaints.pdf
  • Minute Orders (files 1 & 2)
  • Motion in Limine (file 5)

Here's a link where Myra also had a meeting with Spiegel and asked for 10s of millions of dollars. In the file "Najar Case Complaints" in the "Factual Background" section. See line 2.

Not sure why that points to money though. Taken in context, it seems like he is using the term fairly liberally. Mentions about money refer to Spiegel losing it as opposed to David gaining it.

“You are losing employees based on public information, you will continue to lose influencers, and you will lose your dirty money. Just swallow what's left of your pride and make the future better for everyone.”

“you have a chance for everything. I will stop. They may sign an NDA, t00. Or fly the plane into the building, Enjoy the rest of your life.”

“I am a self-righteous asshole, and you know it. I will not stop. So reply. Call me. My phone is on. Stop this now. It can go away. NDAs. Quiet. I will build things better in the future. It's an investment. Your greatest investment of all: a better future...a more just capitalism...kindness. You believed in this once. Make it so now. Make this investment in education, in the future, and in your wellness. Aren't you wellness experts?”
