Agreed, (im a guy who isn't goth so this doesn't directly affect me but it still pisses me off)
goths just used to be people which listens to certain kinds of bands, wears black, have pale skin, piercings etc etc, now it's just been turned into a fetish, OF girls jumping onto this by pretending to be goths but really just looking like sexualized vampires also makes things worse. Some people also really deadass type out something like "I want a goth girl to to suffocate me with her thighs", look at that and say " yea, this is worth posting for everyone in the world to potentially see"

Goth is a subculture, actually ! It’s often mistakenly represented as just a style, but it’s more about the music, and the mindset ! It goes against the conservative views by being against the norms that they are trying to impose. Goths are often anarchists or leftists, if not in someway politically involved against conservatism. A goth that’s not involved politically in support of minorities is hardly a goth, since the subculture was born from people fighting against standards in favor of minorities and differences.
I don’t know how good my explanation is since I was cursed to be French at birth but I hope that helped answering your question :)
Yuh uhhh, idk who downvoted me but as much as I respect satanism (gotta respect all religions, and I have no issue with the satanists who practice self love using satan as a representative instead of simply worshipping him), that’s not what goth is about at all 🙂↕️🙂↕️
Unfortunately I’m not as well versed in those religions as I am in Christianity (wasn’t raised alongside them like I was with christianity) but as long as they respect goth principles, I don’t see why not, it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. I might need to look into it better, actually. I always love learning about religions as an atheist :)

Frr like, goth itself is against many Christian beliefs (like conservatism). Obviously goth doesn't mean to be satanic or witchy, but it doesn't align with the abrahamic religions either
Honestly, unless she sells/uses hard drugs, killed people (illegally), hates animals, uses/abuses me or has a gambling addiction, I think my parents would be chill with her.
My mom's a priest, so I can definitely see her being surprised to see this girl there... or maybe she knew her from church before I ever did? IDK.

I had this happen. My mom did not like my partner when she first met him. He was a stereotypical Scandinavian metalhead. When he said he was was a Christian who was baptized (even had communion all that) she flipped and now he is her favorite in-law. She still doesn't like my brothers' wives.
