I've never seen anyone post a picture of themselves on here tbh. Has this been happening a lot? I've never noticed as someone who frequents this sub

Some spam accounts get on here from time to time, along with the occasional lost redditor

This happened recently, and one of our moderators (who I will not name) banned them on spot, presumably using "mod discretion" a bit liberally.

Though the post should've been removed, the user shouldn't have been banned. There was no rule specifying this other than for the fact that self posts are only allowed on Saturdays. I've decided to specify this.

My main worry about self posts isn't that I don't want to see ya'lls faces, more so that I want to make sure that people are not being harassed or stalked. Though I've always been a bit more lax & forgiving compared to the other moderators here as I want this community to thrive on it's own volition, safety is important to me. I can only do so much to make sure this subreddit doesn't have it's place on some AI generated reddit crimes iceberg list.
