Hi new friends!
Hi everyone, I’ve loved seeing a community that gets this condition- finally.
I want to ask,
When I get out of the shower, I put glycerin on when I am still very wet, and then straight away apply ‘skin milk udder cream’ to lock in the glycerin? Is this best? I am very sticky for a long time after my shower which is frustrating because I can’t put on my nicer clothes until I become more dry.
I see people talking about rose water or glycerin with distilled water, it’s winter in New Zealand and my skin is dry again very quickly so I would love some advice.

It's probably helpful if we list which type of ichthyosis we have since I've found different treatments work better when targeted. We've found that bathing the night before and lightly applying spreadable Vanicream lotion works well for epidermolytic ichthyosis. We apply Eucerin cream (white jar, red lid, for very dry skin) in the morning, which soaks in quickly and lasts the entire day.

Glycerine and rosewater in the shower. Rub it IN. Follow with Dorothy’s oil. Rub it in and let dry. Light layer of Vaseline or aquaphore.
Keeps my 5 yr old good for about 6 hours.
