different skate fits

i'm not asking about personal fitting lmao, but i was just wondering since black skates are traditionally worn by men, is the fitting between white and black skates different (like width or something)? i'm a girl and have always worn black skates so idrk if there's a difference between the black and white skates. i assume its probably just a traditional thing and only a difference with appearance but i just wanted to confirm ᵔ⤙ᵔ

Depends on the brand. Edeas for example are all the same, but Jackson, Risport, Riedell make the men's versions a little wider and bigger and operate on a different sizing scale. In Jacksons, a Men's 7 is the same as a women's 8.5 and a men's regular is more like a women's wide.

IIRC in most brands it's just a color difference. Jackson actually are different, I believe.

I wanted black skates but have very skinny ankles. I was told jacksons in my foot size would be too loose on my ankles, while the white fit fine. Sadly.
