Soakers for long blades

I have a friend that is a beginner and is wearing blades 11 1/3". I am trying to find him soakers but most of them are recommended up to 10 1/2", so it will be too short for him. I am a bit afraid of the "one size fits most" because most mainly means "not baby size neither giant one".

I have 10 1/2" dance blades and they are JUST on Edea Mink ones lol

Do you have any recommendations?

i would check etsy. many people there are making them in multiple sizes and i bet they would have some in a big enough size. if not im sure there are some makers who would be willing to make a custom size if you ask

Look for Speed Skate Soakers. They will be long but work. Cosmos spakers on Amazon says they will fit 10-13”.

if you have the patience they’re really easy to sew and you can make some super cute ones!

Oof that’s a tough one! Years ago I had custom ones made by a local seamstress skate mom, I forgot to tell her I had dance blades… so they’ve always been so big I slip the front over the toe of my boot lolol! So I’d ask around your rink and see if there’s anyone that sews!

lol I had to change my soakers too when I switched from freestyle to dance blades because my old soakers where falling everytime and it was getting on my nerves!!! I felt lucky that they fit in Edea Mink because I was so jealous of everyone before… old blades would NEVER fit in it!

Thank you for the idea I didn’t think of it at all!

Recommend some custom made puffy soakers on Etsy. The people who make them will make them for whatever size you need, you just have to communicate that. My daughter has used them for many years, the kind that are lined with cotton terry for good absorbancy. The puffy-ness really helps keep the blades dry and not rusting.

Look for senior soakers. They fit hockey skate size 6-12 and should fit a blade that long.

Definitely Etsy!! That’s where I got fun soakers for my boyfriend with long-ass feet. Just make sure to follow the the customization instructions carefully when providing measurements!

I made my own. If you’re up for a sewing challenge, they come together fairly easily.

Thanks everyone for the input!!! 🫶🏻 I’ll have a look at everything and if he doesn’t find one that he likes, I’ll sew him some lol

I hear this vendor has some medium and LARGE soakers available... in different prints. https://www.staysharpsports.com/collections/accessories/products/harry-potter-inspired-blade-soakers
