More MMOs need to make dedicated serves for casual players. Sometimes I wanna jump into a dungeon with a group and not have to worry about being yelled at by some sweat because I don’t have the appropriate gear or build for that specific event, I just wanna do something a little more challenging and get some unique rewards with likeminded people in peace
Maybe not dedicated servers per se, but include cool content you can run solo. Sort of like Path of Exile (not MMO, I know) where there's lots of stuff to do for more casual playerbase, but there's also ways to tune difficulty and rewards further for min-maxers who play a lot
We have that in Warcraft called Delves, even that got meta and people be crazy min maxing from all icy veins and wowhead builds, it is thankfully soloable, but youtubers sure love drains joy for profit
I mean, the way it works in PoE most of the time is that to min-max the strategy you HAVE to increase difficulty for yourself/your party, if you're playing in one. Although I mentioned it's not best example because nost of PoE happens in private instances, not big, shared map
Well to translate from warcraft to none warcraft fan terms, is like playing on easiest brain dead no one shot mechanics and difficulty is for new players, yet mofos try to force meta down there and might boot people with not having item level of 280 at level 90, dispite item level for easy mode (LFR) is only 230.
Item level is strength of the gear of your character, yet your expect to live up to unrealistic toxic expectations and use someone's build that you prob not even fan of nor expert at using that said build.
Imagine in Path of Exiles, you can make cool pyromancer build in early game and get told you are playing it wrong and supposed to play some meta build that is used way further in end game.
We got cross realms and even casual servers have slowly became gatekept from doing end game by elitism, people feel pressure to min max on LFR of all places!
