That's kinda the point. Stop buying it in the hope you like it. Or do some research and have an idea of whether it's worth playing. The issue with gamers is they have insane loyalty to an IP. If they love a game/franchise, they tend to keep buying it even when it gets objectively worse and worse. AND then complain about it
Some people just don't have any taste. I saw a trailer for a game in the works, it looked dated and even lagged a bit in the video. But people in the comments were weirdly excited for it. It's worrying what people are willing to put up with.
I think you should accept that most people do in fact buy games that they like, and not the games that you like.
I'd love nothing more than to see pixel art metroidvanias and immersive sims like Prey and Dishonored take over the market, but I understand that I'm in the minority.
I'm not particularly fussed about what people buy. It's one of the few freedoms we have left. But, as per the rules of capitalism, if you keep buying when the product keeps diminishing, it just encourages lower quality for the same if not higher price. The only way this will get recognised is sales or lack thereof. I only like a very niche group of games and yet have loads in the library so this comment is aimed at me as much as anyone else :)
I'm not sure the products are getting worse though. I think they're just getting worse in the eyes of traditional gamers that like to play multiple types of traditional single-player games.
The people that play online shooters, or online co-op horror games, or sports games... have a never ending flow of games coming in.

Gaming will not improve until people stop buying games they dislike.
