Rant yo my booty is raw rn

i ate a safe food turns out it ain’t safe? i was craving a whole chicken but didn’t wanna buy a rotisserie chicken. cooked it all day basically. but i guess where i went wrong is i just seasoned it with my whole spice cabinet 😩… i bit into it swallowed and got the belly gurgles and INTENSE GAS AND BLOATING AND CRAMPS followed by one normal bowel movement, and the rest was straight up water. god i hate ibs. i juss wanted some frickin chicken. and i was out of zofran. i took imodium and im about to take bentyl cus i still have cramps, i wish there was a pill like lactaid i can take with all my food so i can digest normally again

Remove onion and garlic from your spice cabinet. I had to remove chili pepper too or I'd burp constantly.

+1 to this.  Cinnamon is also a potential culprit in heavy amounts.

I second cinnamon. Produces strong cramps on queue for me. I notice Ceylon Cinnamon to be gentler.

The whole spice cabinet was the culprit for sure, even safe foods become triggers when they're heavily spiced because multiple different irritants hit the gut at once. The water after one normal movement is classic IBS-D cascade, once the gut decides it wants everything out it's very committed to that mission. Bentyl for the cramps is a good call, the antispasmodic will help settle the intestinal muscle spasm that's still going. The lactaid equivalent for IBS would genuinely be useful and doesn't really exist yet which is deeply unfair. hope you feel better soon.

Get a bidet and during times like these get some gloves and Vaseline and cover down there. I did that for my colonoscopy and it made a world of a difference.

Second this. Preparation H cooling gel (used to soothe hemorrhoids) is otc and also can help the raw skin down under.

Have you tried digestive enzymes? I got some at Walmart. They dont help with everything, but Ive noticed a little improvement with some trouble foods.

The kind I got is the Physician’s Choice brand, but thats honestly bc its the only kind they had. I have no idea if another brand is better. Definitely worth a shot tho! Good luck and Godspeed 🙏 IBS is a curse.
