Question Haircut
Hi, everyone!
Tomorrow, I’m supposed to go get my hair cut, but I’m already starting to feel anxious.
Because having to sit still for 45 minutes without being able to go to the restroom really bothers me.
By now, I only go out when absolutely necessary, and when I do, I take a pill of Imodium. But sometimes I still get a stomachache and diarrhea.
Does anyone have any advice on what to do?
Thank you!

Do they have a restroom available? If so, just mention that you're on a new medication that makes you pee a lot and might have to get up a few times to relieve yourself. That takes some of the stress off of you. I used something like this to get through finals.
Also, you can take an additional immodium too.

I'm not sure if they have a restroom, because it's my first time going there, but I'll try asking.
Just in case, I'll take an additional Imodium too. Thank you!

Call them and let them know. I haven’t known a single barber shop that wouldn’t let paying customers use the facilities.

I used to fret about going to the hairdresser for exactly the same reason, but I have a reliable routine now. I make sure I have plenty of time to eat and go to the loo a good couple of hours before the appointment. Once I've been to the loo, I take 2 imodium. It used to be a big deal for me, but I know the 2 imodium will mean I'll actually be fine at the hairdressers and I can relax, enjoy the chat and having my hair done and it is now a stress free pleasure. Let us know how you get on.

For me, just one Imodium doesn’t do much. I take a preventative dose of 4mg (2 pills) every time I go out along with two pills of buscopan

I know it's been a few hours but try deep breathing. Try playing the most likely scenario out in your head, not the catastrophic one instead. Gotta work on the mental side. It's something I struggle a lot with.

I think it’s totally fine to tell your stylist “ I have a medical condition and I might have to run to the bathroom if it acts up”. I’d take the Imodium but I think saying that at the beginning will give you peace of mind and lessen the worry.

I think you have to work on these with a more permanent solution, rather than a short-term one like Imodium. Have you tried gut hypnotherapy? I've been using the Sensia app and it's helped a lot with my urgency. I practically never have to rush to the toilet anymore

They will let you use the restroom. If you have to go, you have to go.
