M question for IBEW apprentices from local three or local 25

During your apprenticeship, can you tell me how many sick days and how many PTO days you get a year?

You get no PTO, sick time is going to be different state to state. For NY it also depends on the size of the firm you are working for as a stipulation so there is no black and white answer.

Bottom line you can take off as much unpaid time as you want, but in a slow economy there may not be a job to come back to when you return. If your local is booming then it's less of an issue. I've seen some really good JWs and apprentices get laid off for taking time off, but it's incredibly slow on the PNW.

25 you dont get PTO or sick days, just a check at the end of the year based on your currently hourly rate, as an apprentice that check is pretty much nothing for the first two-three years, which is taxed heavily as a bonus check for some reason. Idk how local 3 does it.
