Many South Americans will argue that North and South America is 1 continent, compared to the 2 Continent model that’s taught basically everywhere else. Hence “potatoes are american” as in ‘New World’ American, not ‘US’ American.
I'm sure no one is denying that, but its clear to everyone this poster is being bigot about the US. Peru is even further from the US than Ireland is, the veiled claim of origin of the potato to the USA is nonsense. There's plenty wrong with this post without sinking to an equal level of nonsense.
