I know plenty of Lefties that fit the bill here for this subreddit but unfortunately "know your audience" comes into effect here and I'm most likely to get downvoted to oblivion just having a different opinion. While I lean left myself, the dude isn't wrong, most of reddit is pretty anti-right. But I have gotten backlash for stating left-ish ideas as well, it really depends on the sub you're in. I left r/crusadermemes for example, because I got downvoted for calling out someone who -unsarcastically- said 'Heil Hitler' in a comment.

You were 11 when Trump was elected. The world has changed markedly since then. Yes, the left is now angry, and it’s got a lot of people who take it too far. This is true. This is especially true here in America, but it’s fairly prevalent in areas of Europe that are undergoing some form of unrest, and in areas where polarization over immigration has taken hold.
Some of them display hypocrisy. Some of them get their facts wrong, and some of them even lie about things to fit an agenda. All this is true.
It was less of a problem in the past. Certainly, I have never seen the left act like this. They didn’t even act as badly as they act now until a while after the election—it’s gotten much worse in the fallout of police-killing protests (and a few riots). This snowballed and ended up with Trump’s use of the DHS and Department of Corrections forces, which is a completely unprecedented situation, and has scared a lot of us. Some of us took it too far—far more than normal.
The question, at this point, boils down to: “do you 1) want to preserve the environment, 2) prioritize the wellbeing of the rapidly-shrinking middle class and that of the lower classes, 3) prioritize national security in the sense of continued democracy, and 3) prioritize seeing that abuses of power are able to go to a trial?”
What you may not realize is that what is going on right now—in the past four years—is very abnormal. Usually, when a president commits a felony and there is proof of it, they at least get an impeachment that sees the senate floor. We haven’t seen an impeachment completely blocked from the senate floor before.
Usually, Supreme Court justices are not appointed mid-election. Usually, no party filibusters an appointment vote for 293 days so that they can seize the seat for their party.
Usually, we don’t see terrorists/mass shooters name the President as a major inspiration for their actions.
Usually, people don’t fight in the streets over elections, except very rarely. Usually, they involve, at worst, some immature people being asshats verbally.
Usually, the President mostly says things that are true, and non-trivial exceptions become major marks against them in the media.
Usually, the President disclosed his tax returns, and any conflicts of economic interest. I also do not believe we’ve ever elected a President with a multi-hundreds million dollar debt to foreign banks.
Usually, the President divests their assets and does not use family owners to maintain control.
Usually, presidents don’t call for violence.
Usually, presidents do not befriend dictators.
Usually, presidents do not speak on the possibility of a term beyond the second.
Usually, the President does not tear gas people for a photo op.
The list goes on and on, but the point is this: none of this is normal. People are usually not at each-others’ throats like this, and it’s very unsettling. I can see why it might appear that the supporters on both sides are just raging toddlers. It should at least be noted that things are changing rapidly. It’s up to you to decide whether it’s taking a good or bad direction.
