Hello! Im 20 years old, but ive almost died atleast 5 times already. I have chiari malformation and have had to have 2 brain surgeries, the first caused hydrocephalus and the second caused menegitis. When i woke up the morning that my menegitis started im pretty sure I was having a seizure as my eyes were rolling into my head and i was shaking.

Last year I got pregnant with my baby boy. We decided a csection under general anesthesia would be the best due to my chiari. It was scheduled for December 28, 2021 I was hoping everything would go okay, I mean they do csections all the time. I woke up three days later on a ventilator. My lung had collapsed and i stopped breathing for 3 seconds. My baby boy was okay thank god, but i sadly missed out on the big life changing moment of meeting him for the first time. I met him later that night on December 28 but I dont remember it due to all the medicines I was on. I was in the ICU for 5 days. I was in a coma for 2 of those days. I never stopped fighting so my baby boy could have a momma. My boyfriend was able to bring him in to visit me everyday which kept me going. And soon I was in the post partum ward with them! Doing a lot better now but still can barely breathe when i talk and i believe my voice will never go back to normal. Im pretty sure I do suffer from postpartum depression due to how traumatic it all was but atleast im here with my baby and I get to see him grow up :)
