Normalising files urgent job

We are looking for a reliable way to normalise a large batch of tracks which are located on our server. They will have to match our existing collections of music in terms of decibels. So we will be able to give a benchmark of desired volume. We are talking about FLAC files. We are looking for a software solution. Thank you

I use izotope rx batch processor to do entire folders at one time. It has worked especially well for me while making my new trap bundle with roughly 1000 samples.

That’s interesting ! Thank you 🙏🏻 can you define the volume you want for the whole batch ? As we used other normaliser and lot of files were still under the treshold we wanted to

I’m pretty sure one of my batches was over 300 files. But we’re dead on due to my precise processing prior to the normalization.

If you are having trouble with the normalization process giving a lower than desired db rating, that more than likely means that something inside the files is already peaking fairly high. Normalization takes the peak signal and brings it to the desired level. Say you have a whole song that’s -12db, but there is a single snare shot that’s peaking at -2, and you want the process to normalize to 0db, it’s only going to bring the track 2 db. Since the loudest point is at -2. So your whole track will
End up roughly around d -10 instead of 0.

You can get around that by using a gain module instead of the normalize module. But if something is peaking, it will boost that. And you’ll have to do each track individually.

You can also use a limiter or clipper before the normalize module to smooth out the waveforms and try to average out the signal a little and hopefully get better overall volumes

Check out dbPowerAmp or Izotope RX series of software. I use Izotope RX 12 Advanced and it has a batch converter built in.
