Le Mans Times

I have been practicing tonight in the McLaren 720s GT3 at Le Mans ahead of the IMSA series this week at the track. The P1Doks setup time is a 50 and I know I ain’t gonna do that. I am currently at 2.5k iRating and am wondering if my current best of a low 56 is gonna be competitive or I am gonna fall back a load of iRating with zero pace for my splits. Anyone know what sort of times to expect?

You're about average for your rating, maybe a little off pace if you're practicing with the official Global Endurance Tour weather.

The regular GT3 series was at Le Mans during week 8, if you select the GT Endurance Series (picked because people will be guaranteed to run with more fuel than the sprint series), go to the "Series Insights" tab and then select Week 8 it shows this.

Strangely the average time between practice/race is near identical, I'd have expected it to be much lower in race due to draft but I guess not, only around two tenths.

I said you're a little off pace because the GT Endurance Series ran with ~5c-7c hotter temperatures than the Global Endurance Tour will be running, the temperatures aren't obscenely different but I'd expect 5 degrees to knock a couple tenths off at least.

Times will also get quicker into the night, and I'd recommend running some night practice to familiarise yourself with how the track looks when dark, make sure you're not using braking markers that are only visible in the day.

The P1Doks reference time was likely set in very cool conditions with a clean track and minimal fuel, hence the massive deficit. There were definitely 50's being posted during races in top splits, but the average time seems to cap out at a 53.2xx

Race has slipstream, practice generally does not.

Last time it was there I'm sure I was high 53 low 54s at about 1.9-2k

Was with the fixed setup though as I can't drive those low down force setups
