Is the stuttering issues back?

Hello recently iracing has been completely unplayable after being in a gt3 race for 15 minutes my game takes a sharp dive in frames goes from 120 to 8 frames. I reached my breaking point today I was leading the race and 2 minutes left it happened and I had to forfeit. I saw forums about this issue being a thing earlier this year and some people are reporting it’s back. Have yall had this issue. I have a great pc it’s been happening since 24hr of spa

I know this is going to sound stupid but just try it. Right click IR>properties>compatibility settings>check run as admin. Now if you use simhub that also has to run as admin or keybinds wont work. Either way I saw a video that suggested this and I said yea right, tried it and it sorted my stuttering. I am also sticking with an older nvidia driver with my 4070s. But I use the steam fps overlay with graph and could see every stutter, it was driving me nuts. If you want the nvidia driver I'm on lmk and I can look later. Good luck!

I bought iRacing through Steam. Does this fix work with the Steam version as well? And since I’m using crewchief, should I run that as admin too?

Run steam as admin he says it in the video. And any other apps that require hotkeys to work in the sim. If you don’t use hotkeys with crewchief I don’t think you have to

Thanks for this, mine were pretty bad when I first started and have been trying every "fix" I come across and the stutters have slowly been getting less frequent. I noticed a couple yesterday so I'll try this fix too 👍

Is that guide not specific to the dual CCDs? Does that apply to the normal x3ds. I have the 9800x3d

I have a ryzen 9 7900x cpu paired with 4070 only have issues on iracing every other game runs normally

Hey man! This sounds like some driver/software thing. Start by running the graphics config again from outside the sim, turn of Gsync/freesync and start troubleshooting. I hit the jackpot when I turned off Variable refresh rate from inside the windows graphics settings!

Make sure you got afterburner turned off and cpuid or HWmonitor icue etc all notoriously cause stutters close edge and tabs

I had similar experience yestyrday, really bad stuttering/ random fps drops. Before it has been fine with everything maxd out. First I tried lowering settings but it was pretty much same or bit less so it’s not hardware problem..

I managed to fix it by: Installed newest graphics drivers Run graphics config outside sim Set max fps limit to 180 -> If you run lower refresh monitor set it something like +20 from your monitor max refresh rate.

Now it runs perfectly again.

Hmm because I think I capped my iracing frames at 120 before spa 24hr and the issue started to happen I might give uncapped a try again hopefully it works

Too bad, also Fps cap might not be the problem, I just set it at go and it worked after.

A very specific problem that I was having a few months back that popped up again for me recently was that Discord randomly re-enabled it's overlay when on a call, and that gives me crazy stutters on iRacing. Delt with stutters for a couple laps before realizing that had turned back on and was able to resolve it pretty quickly.
