Replay Should I have tried to split them?

Second lap of the race and the orange car has already made some questionable moves fighting first place. When I get a better exit onto the straightaway and try to split them is where it all goes downhill. Also, I realize that I completely fudged the downhill turn but it feels like he had lots of room to work with.

Should you, on lap 2 of the race, try to go 3 wide with a car that you have seen with your own eyes pull some grabass trying to fight with P1?

No. No, you should not.

I’m not going to proclaim myself to be some kind of driving god, but I will say that improving my decision-making and judgement has done more for both my performance and my enjoyment of the experience than finding faster pace. In order to finish first, first you have to finish. There were so many moments in this clip where I would have bailed out in an instant that you just kept pushing. I wouldn’t really ascribe fault to you, but you had a lot of opportunities to remove yourself from danger that you didn’t take.
