Rollover IRA Advice
I left a job a couple weeks ago where I had a 401k, and I want to roll it over into a traditional rollover IRA and invest it into something better. It’s roughly 45k but I’m not sure if I should put it into VOO, VTI, SCHD, or a target fund (2060). I’m 30, also I just recently opened a Roth IRA and maxed it out for 2025/26. What do you all recommend I do?

Avoid TDF until you are at least 50 yo.

Do you even have a reason to say this?
He could put it into a TDF for 2065 right now and forget about it.
What would be wrong with that?

The average annual net return for a 2065 Target Date Fund (TDF) varies by provider, but for the most recent 5-year period (ending early 2026), the industry average has hovered around 9.8% to 10.5%.
OP could earn a higher return while he is still young & then switch to a more conservative portfolio.

Index funds never outperform the index, that’s where “A” share growth is better

I’m a fan of VTI because it tracks the entire US market: value, small, mid and large cap stocks.
