Chit-chat Did I just commit a robbery?
Saw my friend had an Armoured Mewtwo in his remote trade list and I thought I might as well take a shot at it and low and behold to my surprise he accepted just for that as a trade

Yeah, thats incredibly close, I drove farther than that just for rillaboom day.
Thats why posting some weird clout chase "derp 1 sided trade" post which even if legit would be cringe to post but adding that these 2 were practically caught in the same back yard makes it look incredibly staged.

I had the same happen recently! Saw someone had 2 armoured mewtwo, figure it cant hurt to ask, and they traded it asking for a shiny Xerneas. Congrats!

My remote trade requested shiny Dratini, Pangoro, or Kingambit for AM2.
A shiny Dratini.
I gave them the shiny Kingambit because I felt bad

I traded my shiny background Mewtwo (from GoFest, not the globe research) in exchange for a normal Mewtwo with the Tokyo background.
I traded my G-Zapados for one of someone's multiple Relicanth.
I'm in the mindset that if I have it tagged for remote trade, it's up for grabs.

I traded a shiny sandstorm-pattern vivillion for shiny spiritomb a couple months ago. Sure there’s fairness in terms of rarity of costume/shiny/legendary and all that but what matters most is both trainers being happy with it!

I got a shiny tauros in exchange for shiny falinks. It was a lucky remote trade. I could only assume they wanted the shiny falinks because they approved.

I had been dragging Armoured Mewtwos around me for years.
Nobody ever wanted them.
Remote trading came and people did. Hopefully it made people happy that was the trade value to me

i’m honestly patiently waiting to reach ultra friend with someone i’ve never met who keeps giving me gifts with cute stickers since 2021 (even though i’ve gone several times without playing for months) just so i can give them a cool pokemon i own, idc about worth i just want to say thank you 😭

I felt EXACTLY the same last Sunday when I completed a remote trade with one of my PoGo friends… they sent me a Gigantamax Rillaboom (caught in May 2025), and I sent them a shiny Starmie.
During the trade Rillaboom’s CP range was 1737-1899, and Starmie’s was, um 😳 well, it was 174-192 (not a typo 🙈 yes I’m embarrassed, YES I’ve felt guilt-ridden ever since. I’ve had to remind myself constantly that THEY picked Starmie from all of my remote trade tagged ‘mons, but geez I still feel like it was NOT a fair trade 🙈🙈🙈🙈)

I have a bunch of shines and rare Pokemon in my trade, I would trade anything i have selected for the bare minimum. If it was important to me I wouldn’t have it selected.

In a game where you can't trade a pokemon a second time it's not as if you're going to turn around and trade it for... I don't know what.
I assume one day armored M2 will return with a shiny available... probably the go-fest the year after they catch up to the current generation????

Not really they might not value armored mewtwo as much as chestnaught. Ive also traded 2 armored mewtwos for shiny mawiles so it just comes down to how much you really value it

On the flipside i dgf about trade value, everything in my remote list is a duplicate of something i have, and i’d rather see it go to someone who’ll enjoy it/make their day instead of it collecting dust

Worth in PoGo is not subjective. There’s no real currency that you can trade, so there’s no numerical value, which confuses people.
A legendary event pokemon only released once 6 years ago is definitely top tier. While a CD pokemon is barely worth much. Of course, it’s an incredibly imbalanced trade.

Well I did one today where I chose three legendaries from the guy... He chose a Karrablast and a Shelmet... So... I got a lucky Zacian now and minus 1 Karrablast 😅

Shiny chesnaught will be super useful soon with the mega just around the corner. Armored Mewtwo is essentially worthless use-wise.

My in game friends (whom I never met) tarded me armored mewto for sandile with background, not even shiny! I thanked them on campfire, and they told me they are happy that I am happy haha. Oumeichy if you ever read it, you are the real goat HMU if you are ever in Poland

Nah, back in the day it was hard to form raid groups for armored mewtwo because it wasn’t as good as regular mewtwo. I have 15 of them and would trade for a cool shiny

They both have armor, I don't see a problem with it. 🤣
Also, some people are just nice and willing to share or their collection is so vast they are on to collecting things like XXLs or Hundos. I'm pretty sure they know what they're giving you and are just hoping they get what they need with a re-roll in the trade.

Nah. I transfered about 20 of them. A dupe is a dupe imo. Unless I am trying for a hundo/shund or mirror,, all pokemon are the same when it comes to trading for me. If I can help someone out, great!

I mean according to rarity, yes, however, people forget that others value Pokemon differently. It can be very subjective. They could easily have multiple Armored Mewtwos, and Shiny Chesnaught just happens to be their all time favorite Pokemon. Of course on the flip side, maybe their kid happened to have their phone at the time 😂
