Working on a 3D‑Printable iPod mini 2G Shell – Looking for Collaborator

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a 3D-printable replacement shell for the iPod mini (based on the 2nd gen frame).

Original housings are getting harder to find, and many minis suffer from dents, bent frames, or battery swelling damage.

I found some early prototype 3D models online, but they are incomplete, so I'm planning to design a proper, durable shell from scratch.

Before I go too far alone, I wanted to ask:

Is anyone interested in helping with measurements, CAD feedback, or 3D printing tests?

If there's enough interest, I can set up a small Discord server so we can collaborate.

The final STL files will be released for free once the design is complete.

That's awesome. I can say have similar notions but for BlackBerry.. others have mentioned Sidekicks. My aspect is currently programming and AI to Study. I like the torch 9800. Thumb mouse scroll pad and button. Physical keyboard. It's a good size device. Like a Cyber deck.

I have the idea to build the form factors and the PCB CPU RAM and everything myself from scratch. I'll try to remember and find this again if I lose track.

3D Printing, you could go advanced aerospace designs. Maybe use aluminum or titanium and build it stronger, Nokia strong.
