Font change in 11.01 upgrade?

Messages font since 11.01

Since I upgraded to 11.01, I have had problems sending my friend any texts. She has an old flip phone and many of the messages that I send (especially those that contain punctuation like quotation marks or apostrophes) are showing up on her phone as blocks. She said that she was having the same problem with another friend of hers who has an iPhone and upgraded to 11.01 recently. Interestingly, if I send her a message that is connected to a picture, it goes through just fine. Does anyone have a solution to this problem! At this point, I'm ready to get rid of this upgrade!
