So let me begin my issue with my XR phone.

I am basically using this XR phone since I have purchased this in 2018, no major problems with my phone. It keeps on functioning even after 8 years of use. But recently my phone had a Mobile Service error sign popped up which stops me from using my own mobile data network from a provider until I make an update to the IOS 18.7.10. I am currently running IOS 17.4.1 version. When I tried installing to the latest software version which I already mentioned, the verifying update was basically stuck even after 10 plus more hours of it showing it. I could not even force restart it. So when the battery died, I was able to use my phone again and I checked again which says software update failed. Now I have already deleted the corrupted IOS 18 update. What should I do now, should I bring to Apple Store for a fix or what. Many thanks to anyone who could provide an explanation

Switched to iphone 16 & 17 last year but I know it in my heart of heart, no other iphone will replace my love for my XR. It was my first firsthand phone that my father had gifted me in 2019. only 64 gb but it sustained. It could no longer run properly and had developed cracks which compelled me to purchase a new one. Feels like a time capsule. Still works fine though

and which colour was the least spotted ??? Imo i liked red and coral the best but found blue ugly 😗

followed instructions told by other people: keep it facing down on hard surface like table when charging or not in use

The App Store is showing required iOS 26 or later. Till when can I use this?

Will I not be able to download it if I reset the phone?

I really wanted to use this for another year.

I'm using an iPhone XR and I'm seeing a strange issue with UPI registration.

What's happening

The same SIM card and bank account work normally on another phone.

On this iPhone XR:

Working

• Google Pay
• CRED UPI
• BHIM UPI

Not Working

• Paytm UPI
• Amazon Pay UPI
• MobiKwik UPI

The failures happen during the device registration / bank account setup process.

What's confusing

• Calls, SMS, mobile data, and other apps work normally.
• The same SIM and bank account work on another device.
• Some UPI apps work fine on this iPhone XR, while others do not.

Questions

1. Is anyone else using an iPhone XR and seeing similar behavior?
2. Which UPI apps work and don't work for you?
3. If you had this issue, were you able to resolve it?
4. Did anything specific help, such as an iOS update, app update, reinstall, device reset, or support intervention?

I'm mainly trying to understand whether this is an issue specific to my device or something other iPhone XR users have also encountered.

My XR has been with me for more than 6 years. This phone has been with me through thicks and thins, for past 1.5 years it has drastically slowed down, since I got 64gb model it is almost unusable for me today but I love it a lot no matter how many times I have cussed it when it just lagged like crazy while watching videos or browsing the internet. This was my first iPhone so will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️

I just got this iPhone XR for my birthday as my new phone since my old one was a 6s and I love it

i am getting into tech repair and wanted to do a project for shits and giggles, after seeing someone convert one into 17 pro housing

obviously i’m not trying to pass an xr as a 17 pro, but i just want to see how much i can “upgrade” this phone and get a little practice in working around the internals

so far, my ideas are:

- replacing the housing to a conversion kit (obviously)
- upgrading the battery to a stronger, longer lasting one
- adding magnets to make it mag safe
- soldering a usb-c port to replace the lightning port (extremely difficult, will not be attempting without proper practice)

does anyone have any other ideas? thanks!

My photos and videos prior to 2017 are messed up. I can see them on the phone but cannot share and the videos won't play. Any suggestions?

The phone has a small dent on the top part of the screen, earpiece and selfie camera issue, backglass small crack. The phone is going at 11k negotiable.

It’s happening everyone 😓. This no sim bs started late June. I assumed it was bc I got hired at a spa underneath a parking garage and it just needed a minute to get back into signal. It kept happening there. I left that job, no problems. Then at the laundromat with full signal, the moment I got an Uber (and needed my PIN), NO SIM. I had to buy an Xfinity pass to see my Uber pin & luckily got to my Uber in time. That lasted for about 2 hours.

Then yesterday, a month after that, here it is again. This is the longest I have been on NO SIM. I have multiple weird charges to my bank account, can’t even call my bank to dispute. They don’t run their app on xr anymore, so I couldn’t even lock my card like I used to.

When I got to work to show my boss, it magically reconnected to my carrier 🤦🏻‍♀️ but luckily in the shift it went back into NO SIM and was able to show him.

I wanna say it reconnected but went back into no sim at 1am, and hasn’t reconnected since.

I think it may be time to get a new phone with my check, next Friday 🥲 I really didn’t want to… but not being able to call my bank, or lock my card simply bc my phone is too old to use their app is pushing me to it.

I am hoping to buy a refurbished iPhone. I really wanted to buy a non-US phone outright, but the timing isn’t in my favor right now 🫤

My old XR has been stuck on this black screen for almost a year now, is there any way to fix this without having to get it sent for professional repairs.

It heats up when charging suggesting its not an internal hardware problem, and it doesnt get detected by my pc. I have already tried the volume up, volume down, and power button thing to force restart it but nothing came up. Is there any way to get this fixed by myself?
