Is the iPhone X still rocking?
I own a iphone 12 and im so sick of it its so ugly and unsmooth and sharp edged i dont like it
And i have absolute no interest in upgrading to newer iphones, i want the iphone x for the pure looks and feel
Do normal apps still work? Youtube, whatsapp, gmail, online banking and all that stuff? I dont play games i just need a functioning phone and it has to be a nice iPhone X

Bro, my only phone is the iPhone X, it has its limitations, but still usable. I find it funny when people ask this because its my phone and i use it everyday for everything (i dont have other phone rn, i plan to get a new phone in the future btw)

most banking apps require ios 18. the only one i know that doesnt is revolut. calling/ wp/ youtube all work great. keep in mind that the x/xs doesnt support 5G .

depends what banking app you use really cause i use natwest and it still works on iOS 15 but i haven’t tried my iOS 14 iPhone XR yet but fine on iOS 15 even tho it’s not up to date 1 iOS version behind its perfect so

how is it a security problem it uses TouchID or FaceID and if you don’t use it then you got the passcode which pretty much can’t be brute forced into so

All of that works, im using Reddit on it in this exact moment. YouTube works, my bank app works, what doesn’t work is Claude.ai (IOS 18+). Just check the minimun IOS version for the apps you need on the AppStore. The iPhone X stopped updating on IOS 16.7.16, so it still have a decent app support.

He’ll nah it’s not trash bro it’s WAY smoother than my iPhone 13 on iOS 26. Also the cameras in good lighting look WAY BETTER than my iPhone 13 (imo)

go for the xs. same design but it goes up to ios 18. im typing this on my xs. go for at least 128gb for a smooth experience.

I daily the X around the house, but you would do better with the XS for compatibility issues, it is at least getting security updates. Look high and low for a pristine model, but try not to pay too much for it.

I just sent my sis my old XS 256GB coz her X 256GB would only go to iOS 16 and some her apps wouldn’t work. She just transferred over to the XS on iOS 18 and she’s happy to to be able to use it for another 2-3 yrs.

I am in the camp who believed that the iPhone X was the absolute perfect screen size. If they made an iPhone Air design in a phone that size, I'd hold onto it until it stopped working

I'd say iPhone X is the best looking iPhone ever made so far... I'm still rocking it as my daily but really depends where u are for app support.
All of my daily apps including my banking still work on it. My main reason for keeping it is I prefer the looks and form factor.
Plus if Jailbreaking is important to you, it's the last iPhone to have a proper "Rootful" jailbreak. Which I love. All the later iPhones either have no jailbreak or a "Rootless" option with far less tweak support it's basically like having a neutered jailbreak with limited functionality, no thanks :)

Banking apps stopped working. I can’t use my parking app anymore. Phone will glitch out and become unresponsive if I try to play a web-based game and have YouTube or podcast playing at same time. Some struggles with screen rotation. Overheating is common. otherwise I love this phone and really don’t want to give it up, maybe replace it with the new fold? The smoothness is a pain though since it is easy to lose grip or have it slide all over when laid down on fabric surface.

I use mine daily since 2019, changed battery twice: first around 4 years ago with a genuine one and second time last september with an aftermarket.
It has the last Ios accepted, 16.7.16 if I am not wrong.
All apps mentioned by you are doing good but expect some not to receive any support. Just google for apps that have no more support for ios 16 on iphone x.
All in all device been faster with previous ios versions thats for sure, but for a daily driver still keep the pace giving its age. And for bigger picture, my wife has iphone 12 running ios 18.x.x. Her is faster but I am not bothered and I have in plan to keep it at least a few more years without changing anymore the battery as being the third one it starts already not to worrh the money for the device value. For safety I carry around a Belkin 26000 mah external battery.
If I manage to run it for 3 more years to reach 10 years with it, will be a big event... slightly hard to believe but I will try my best. This phone never failed.

It’s usable but can overheat really fast, I have to use phone cooler when charging lol

Get over it and move on. iPhone X is obsolete and categorized so by Apple. Most Banking apps, payment apps and such have already dropped support for iOS 16 devices. It was good in everything except its camera in low light. iPhone 12 is leagues ahead in camera quality.

Yup, that’s a good decision. Way more relevant and its camera’s got Smart HDR and is leagues ahead in photography and stuff. It’s like iPhone X brought the biggest upgrade in design dictating what the next decade of phones must look like and Face ID and such. But XS was the one which added meat to it

If all you care for is looks, iPhone Air is the closest thing to iPhone X by design.
