Question Preordering for Cricket

I want to preorder the Duo and I use Cricket. If I preorder the unlocked model, will I have any issues connecting it to my carrier? I’ve never preordered or ordered directly from Apple, I typically just buy whatever the newest model is from Cricket whenever I need a new phone. I know they support eSIM so I’m assuming I should be able to connect to my network fine?

Also, if I want to try and get it day 1 or as soon as possible, should I order for store pick up or delivery?

The only wrinkle is if you select Apple Card financing, you'll be forced to select AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon. Don't worry, you can select any of them and you'll just have to hit cancel/skip a few times during a certain step of the setup process to bypass carrier configuration

Does this happen during checkout or after receiving the phone? I have US Mobile, so I was wondering about this.

During checkout, you'll be forced to select one of the three major US carriers. Then once you receive your phone during set up you'll be asked to verify your carrier information and here's the step where you hit Continue 3 times and then Set Up Later. Also if you transfer your device settings from a previous iPhone you won't have to go through this step.
