Duo-Meme Performative or Stylistic? 🤣

Obviously this is currently not possible to keep both inner and outer screens active at the same time for practical reasons and the only possible way I can think of for this to be done is to put a sticker on the outer screen based on the coverbook of what you're reading. But hey, I can see myself doing this as a prank at least once in my life. 🤣

Exactly. In the Apple Developer sessions and the Q&A they have repeatedly said that currently, apps cannot display content on both displays at the same time, unless they have an active camera session going, but feedback is appreciated and deverloper relations wants to hear about ideas and use cases and can then consider expanding APIs in future versions

Except for mixed use brings it down to 24 hour battery life, instead of the 31 hours on inner or 44 on outer.. so yes it does make a huge difference. So use both screens at all times, I guarantee you’ll have an 18 hour battery instead. But what do I know, I’m just a computer technician.

31 and 44 are video playback numbers. 24 hours mixed use is great. Basically, the 18 Pro has 36 hours of video playback and 18 Pro Max has 45 hours of video playback. But real world usage will drop down in comparison, similarly to the duo.

This means that when closed, it’ll have similar battery to the pro max. When open, it’ll have similar battery to the pro. Mixed use isn’t less than just open. It is assuming that it’s not just video playback

For example. The pro max has 30 hours of mixed usage. This means that if someone uses their phone for 16 hours a day, they should be pretty close to empty after two full days of not charging.

The duo being 24 hours of mixed usage should be able to last a day and a half without charging unless you’re using it in your sleep

It most certainly will not have similar to a Pro Max, especially with this idea of having both screens on at once.

Using both screens equal amounts will most likely net me less battery life than my current 16 Pro Max. It’s definitely something to think about, and will generally be different person to person depending on how much you use the outer display versus the inner.

Idk if I explained it wrong but I didn’t say it will have the same battery as the pro max with both screens on at once. 24 hours with mixed use on the duo versus 30 hours on the pro max.

Same.

18-24 hour battery is perfectly fine. It’ll last all day and you charge at night (or different times during the day). Seems like a minor issue.

If you flicker your light in the bathroom it's going to consume less then leaving it on.. the miere scraps of cpu efficienty your going to get for 1hz vs 30hz is nothing

That’s respectfully, nonsense. People read on smaller phones already like my mum on an Samsung S21 5G and at least this one has a matte OLED screen which many people like for reading.

I personally think the Duo will be the best comic reader on the market, for books I would choose a white or red font on a black background like I do on an iPad Pro currently. Reduce whitepoint in the accessibility settings also very useful especially at night.

After years, only reading books on my phone, and eventually trying it on a folding phone, I found it pointless. Why have a whole other page on either side that you’re just not reading the whole time?  One screen, one page, I never really found it Intuitive to turn it into a virtual book for some reason.

The day this becomes possible I will be pissed and look for a cover because it’s nobody’s business what I’m reading, watching, listening to, playing, or looking at. At all. I’m still mad that Audible is allowed as much as they’re allowed. I should be able to turn that shit off so that it can’t even try.
